We call fashion something that is popular at some period of time. Fashion is something we deal with everyday. For sure everyone wants to keep up to date. Even people who say they don’t care what they wear choose clothes every morning that say a lot about them and how they feel that day. Especially the majority of young people like to show themselves off in public.
In all times, particularly taking roots from the past centuries, person’s welfare was valued by the way a man or a woman was dressed. Nowadays people’s point of view hasn’t changed a lot; merely people’s choices often lay neither in the quality of product nor in its easiness in use, but in the choice brands.
Sometimes we could claim that fashion often rules the world, turning many people’s heads. To attract attention of others they wear non-traditional clothes, made by popular brands.
As for me, it is always important to remember the rules of politeness, that there are different styles of clothes for different types of events. From my point of view, things that you have in your wardrobe should be comfortable to wear. It is better to remain true to yourself. As one wise well-known proverb says, “People meet by clothes and set off by mind”.
My favourite clothes are jeans, shirts and sweaters or jackets. They are comfortable and I can wear them in any weather.
- Do you prefer fashionable clothes to comfortable ones? Why?
I tend to wear clothes that are appropriate for the environment and fashion. To my mind fashionable clothes don’t mean uncomfortable clothes. I try to combine both comfort and fashion.
The explanation is quite simple I want to keep up to date and feel comfortable. At the same time I like to experiment with my style and remain true to myself.

-What is on sale today?
-Is there a café in your shop?
-Where can I have a rest?
- What would you advise your friend who wants to buy some new clothes?
Before any kind of shopping you have to plan everything carefully. It means you should decide what you need first of all then you should know how much money you can afford. The next step will be going through some shops so as to find out the types of clothes and their prices.
I wouldn’t recommend rushing at conclusions what to buy. Think everything over and then you may go exactly to the shop you are going to make your choice at.
- A famous person once said: “Style knows who you are and what you want to say.” Do you agree with this? Why?
I like this saying. Some people try to be fashionable at any cost. But they may not have their style. Fashion will not help you to look attractive if it is impersonal. Also there are cases when these or those fashionable clothes don’t fit you. In this case only your personal style will help you to avoid clumsy situations.
Besides, fashion is so changeable. As for your style, it is unique and reveals your personality.

Ход урока
T: Good morning, dear children and our guests! I am very glad to see you! And I hope you will have an enjoyable our lesson. You may sit down.
T: Now look at the screen, please, and try to guess what we are going to talk about today.
What is the topic of our lesson?
P: Styles.
T: You are right. It’s fashion and all that concerns it. And the aim of our lesson is to revise all words about clothes and fashion and decide if fashion is important for you or not.
T: But before our work let’s train our tongues. Look at the screen, there is a tongue-twister for you. I will read it first . Listen to me carefully . P: They love clothes and love shopping. People like brands, so the clothes they buy are quite expensive.

You know, there are people who love fashion and can’t imagine their life without it, there are people who hate fashion and there people who are indifferent. T: Now look at the sheets of paper that you have. You have three tasks. The first is to complete the sentences. The second is to match the columns to make up sentences. And the last is to open the brackets using the right form. You have 5 minutes to do these tasks .

T: Now put down your homework, please. Ex. 1(4), p.170, ex. 2, p.171. You should write what your attitude towards fashion is. ( А теперь, пожалуйста, домашнее задание. Упр.1(4), стр. 170, упр. 2, стр. 171. Вы должны написать, каково Ваше отношение к моде).

Today we think about fashion a lot because every morning we have to pick our clothes for the day and also when we see meet new people, at first we judge them by the way they look and what they wear because it`s the the only thing we know about them.
Our clothes reflect our social status. For example if you are a business lady you should be dressed appropriately, it is preferable to wear well branded clothes.
Some people spend a lot of time on buying clothes because it helps them to forget about different life problems. It means shopping for clothes can be a good therapy in case of troubles, but you shouldn`t become a shopaholic and buy everything you see, the sense of style of clothes is extremely important.
Some people have the idea that it isn`t necessary to spend huge amounts of money on designer clothes. I believe that one should have at least several designer clothes in the wardrobe for special occasions, like a friend`s wedding, for example.
Nowadays fashion is an inseparable part of our life and it doesn`t matter whether you`re wearing expensive clothes or bought them on sale if you look good and dressed with taste.

Сегодня мы много думаем о моде потому что каждое утро нам нужно выбрать себе одежду на день, а также когда мы встречаемся с незнакомыми людьми, мы сначала смотрим на то, как они одеты потому что это единственное что мы о них знаем.

Fashion
Almost all people do not want to be like other people. They search for an individual style, particular clothes and hair styles. However fashion dictates what we wear, anyway. So even if you say that you wear jeans because they are practical, you cannot deny that jeans are popular and stylish nowadays. Some clothes of the past can also be practical however we do not wear them because they are out of fashion. Of course, to some extent, shops follow fashion and trends and thus they dictate what we wear. However nowadays it is possible to buy clothes which are out of fashion. But very few people do that. So, to some extent, almost all people are slaves to fashion. It means that it is not important to buy the expensive haute couture of the Milan fashion houses to be fashionable.

I think everyone notices that every fashion goes through some stages. When something new and trendy appears, it can shock and excite. Some people even do not want to accept it. Gradually that thing becomes more and more popular. All shops sell it. Many shops and designers try to make copies of it. However some time later it becomes boring. So, it becomes out of fashion. Sometimes people even cannot understand how they could wear that.
Я думаю, все замечают, что каждая мода проходит через несколько этапов. Когда появляется что-то новое и модное, оно может шокировать и восхищать. Некоторые люди даже не хотят это принимать. However there is a conception that every fashion is the recurrence of the past fashion. Indeed, nowadays there are some trendy dresses which were popular in the 1950s.

I do not see anything bad in fashion however I think that people should not be the slaves to fashion, anyway.
