Is it easy to be young сочинение

Обновлено: 17.05.2024

There is an opinion that youth is the best part of a person’s life. What is it – a fact or a stereotype? Happy Youth supporters’ arguments sound very convincing. According to them, when you are fifteen or sixteen, the future seems cloudless, the world around you is beautiful and friendly, and you feel strong and optimistic. Neither health nor other problems trouble you yet. You have the parents who protect and support you. You have friends who never betray you. Conflicts are certainly unavoidable, but they don’t last long, and it’s usually not a problem to survive through them. This is a conventional idea about young people. But is it true?

Psychologists insist that they have lots of work with teenagers. In their “happiest” years they have too many problems, and in most cases they don’t know how to solve them. They lack life experience and are not self-confident enough. They are often too categoric and can’t forgive other people’s faults and mistakes. A quarrel or misunderstanding can lead to serious suffering. “I don’t feel happy at all”, says Jack Green, 14. “I have no friends. It always works the same. At first it seems that I’ve found a real friend, but then I feel very disappointed because he betrays me – tells silly stories about me in the school, or doesn’t help when I need help. It has happened many times.”

“The thing which worries me a lot is my future job”, says Helen Carter, 15. “To have a good life in the future, I have to find a good job. If I want to find a good job, I have to get a good education first. But how am I supposed to choose my career line?! I don’t know what’s good and what’s bad for me. I cannot make an informal choice. I need to make some decision about my education very soon and I feel awfully scared. What if I make a mistake and get an education for a wrong job? This means that I’ll have to do the job which I don’t like or even hate. This makes me feel sick.”

On reading these words we, adults, realize that being young is not so easy. It’s rather challenging to be a teenager of the 21st century, when the world changes so rapidly and people have to work very hard to keep pace with it (успевать за ним). Who can help young people feel less stressed out and more self-confident? Who can provide them with information and advice? The answer, I suppose, is evident.

The author of the article thinks that the opinion that the youth is the best оf human life may be true. He presents rather (1)_____________ arguments for the idea. The strongest argument is that teenagers have fewer

However, the author also presents some facts which do not go with the (3) _____________ idea that “youth” and “happiness” are synonyms. Psychologists say that teenagers do have problems. Most of them are caused by their lack of (4) _____________ and lack of self-confidence Another typical teenage problem is that they cannot compromise. Worries about the future career add up to the teenager syndrome. It’s extremely difficult for a 15-16 year old person to make an (6) _____________, as they don’t have enough information yet. At the end of the article the author concludes that being a teenager in our dynamic world is rather (7) _____________. Adults should realize that teenagers often need their support and advice.

IS IT EASY TO BE YOUNG?

My name is … and I’m only 15. Adults say it‘s a very problematic age which you will go through.. But I’m sure it’s a very special time for any person because you have opportunity to do more, to have more, and of course to fail more to become a lot wiser. We, I mean young people or adolescents or teenagers, it doesn’t matter how they call us, we are just the same adults but without any experience.

“ Nobody grows old by living a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals and gaining wisdom. Years may wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul (Samuel Ullman) . You know my age is like a hurricane or storm full of activity.

And it’s a shame that some of my classmates feel bored being young, and don’t want to achieve any goals in their life, some of them even feel as they are 40. They are complaining about school, a lot of lessons , exams, misunderstandings , and relations with parents and classmates and don’t even try to understand themselves. I would say they are still in condition of Great Uncertainty.

But I like to be young. For me being young is not only a time of life. It is a state of mind. It is a matter of will, imagination, vigor of emotions, energy and spirit that gives me a powerful potential in my youth, the opportunity to make mistakes and self-confidence to solve problems.

Well, well, well … it is not 100% true and I am not absolutely right. There are moments in my life when I don’t want to do anything and even a tiny problem looks like a global one and wants to destroy everything inside of me and then I hate myself. But later, I again feel that I am something special , even as great as the Universe and there are so many doors open in front of me that I want to peek inside every door to make my life more complete and interesting. These moments fill my heart with fears and doubts and the thoughts just crash me , I hesitate and I am afraid to make mistakes but at the same time I think they make me stronger and help me to keep going …

But despite youth it is the best period of life I think young people have as many problems as grown-ups. A problem which worries me most of all is the problem of my future career. Everybody understands the importance of getting an interesting but at the same time well-paid job. After finishing school I ‘m planning to enter university . So it is necessary to have good education to pass the entrance exams. To make my dream come true, I will have to take special lessons in some subjects and my parents will have to pay for them which means a lot of expenses.

And, then my parents and grandparents always say: “When I was young or when I was at your age or if I were you …”. They can’t stop talking about how lazy and irresponsible I am, how much time I waste listening to music and chatting with my friends on my phone , they always remind me of the necessity of doing sport and the harm of fast food. The elderly always think our society has degraded since the last century and they are looking down us.

They call us, I mean teenagers , The Millenials. It means we are the generation grew up with technology and constantly on their phones or devices. To get an idea of how different we really are you would have to understand how we think and act. Sure, we are considered the first “global” generation with the development of the Internet. Oh, yes we spend a lot of time in the Internet, searching information , watching videos on You Tube and downloading music from file sharing sites, chatting and texting and for us real faces seem to be more on Facebook than in a real life. That’s why we are different from older generations, a little bit more special , unique, and more vulnerable, who think the world revolves around us. Probably there is a reason to call us snowflakes because we are very sensitive and can be easily offended and sometimes are unable to deal with opposing opinions.

We are different, but some problems we inherited from the past. They are alcohol, smoking and drugs which affect young generation very much. Using drugs girls and boys are getting more angry, and lose their connection with parents and friends. To my mind our government should take more steps in stopping this problem and prevent the selling of drugs. And of course , teenagers themselves should think about their future and dream about a better life.

My speech is coming to a close. So, I’d like to tell you a joke and say that the most comfortable time in my life was when I wore pampers . It was warm and a little bit wet but very very cosy and safe. But in this transition period, when we are not children any more, and not yet adults we have to make important decisions about our future despite we sometimes feel alone and left out and also despite our very changeable mood and dissatisfaction with our appearances, and concern about how the posting will be perceived by our friends. We should do it because youth is experience and the hope of future.

Adolescent age. What is it?

Adolescence is a transitional stage of physical and psychological human development that generally occurs during the period from puberty to legal adulthood (age of majority). The period of adolescence is most closely associated with the teenage years, though its physical, psychological and cultural expressions may begin earlier and end later.

Behavior of the teenagers. The main features of this age.

Teenagers, in this period of time, are not easy. With the rapid development of the difficulties arise in the functioning of the heart, lungs, brain blood supply. In adolescence, emotional background becomes uneven, unstable.

Due to rapid growth and restructuring of the body during adolescence sharply increased interest in their appearance. It formed a new image of the physical "I". At this age, comes to the fore with peers. It is in the communion, the basic neoplasms: the emergence of self-consciousness, rethinking values, the assimilation of social norms. In this age period evaluation peer evaluation becomes more important for teachers and parents.

Increases the demands both at school and in the family. Often, however, the teenager is still seen as a child in the family. From this, many conflicts. In adolescents there is a passionate desire to be, if not, then at least to seem and be considered an adult.

Soviet psychologist El'konin allocated two periods in the age of adolescence: early adolescence (12-14 years) and older adolescents (early youth) (15-17 years).

Modern science defines adolescence depending on the country (region of residence), cultural and national characteristics, as well as the floor (from 12 to 17 years).

Transitional age is psychologically difficult transition for teenagers from childhood to adulthood. In different countries, depending on cultural and religious heritage, youth years is defined differently. Such a transition can be as simple legal formality (the age for obtaining a passport, the age of majority) and accompanied by religious rituals. This age is associated with the onset of puberty, the legal responsibility for their actions, obtaining rights enjoyed in a society grown man (for example, the right to drive vehicles, the right to vote in the election, authorization to marry, etc.). In different countries and religions of this age is determined in different ways: in 14, 16, 18, 21. From a psychological point of view, time of onset of puberty is individual. From a psychological point of view, the transition to adulthood among adolescents is manifested in the desire for independence in behavior, striving to find their place in society (position yourself), and sometimes to alter their environment to fit their tastes. This is the root cause of youth subcultures. For example, the subculture of the mods emerged in England because the teenagers were protesting against having to wear the same gray cloaks, like their parents, who are nearly 40 years old, and listen to the same music - began the search for younger style and a more energetic style of music, which was early stage in the development of rock music.

Also in the transition to adulthood adolescents appear political views (for the majority of political parties are creating a "youth wing") and the need to Express them — so you can often see teenagers at political meetings (up to skirmishes, where they manifest themselves as active participants) or involved in political agitation. Though the political views of adolescents may be the same as the sympathy of their parents, and not identical with them, which often leads to quarrels in the family. Often in political, social and religious beliefs manifested boyish.

In domestic psychology central neoplasm adolescence is identity. El'konin spoke about the feeling of adulthood as a central neoplasms. According to Bozovic, a change in the adolescent relationships during this period of his life to the world and to themselves. Teenager creates his world, his life plans that will ultimately allow him to live independently.

Another neoplasms is self-determination. The teenager begins to understand themselves and their capabilities, as well as its place in human society and its purpose in life.At this age, forming formal-logical intelligence, divergent and hypothetical-deductive thinking, reflection.

2.1 What are the most common problems among our classmates?

We had interviewed our classmates and found that teenagers are not understood by parents (23 %). 20 % of children suffer from the large number of homework. 15% of teens haven’t got problems. There is a result of the survey below.

So, we can conclude that many adults cannot and do not know how to help a child. The main solution to these problems is communication. If you are a parent of a teenager, the best thing you can do for him is communication with him and becoming a good friend to him.

2.2 Who can help teenagers to cope with these problems?

There are many tools to solve problems. How can they be solved? Teens can change themselves, talk to their parents, friends, peers and teachers. And also you can contact the specific organizations to care for adolescents. To a teenager was more confident, you need to be able to talk about the problems need to be more free to be able to solve them immediately. Teens need to realize that adults care about them. But also adults need to express it with the help of interest, care and assistance to adolescents. When young people cannot cope with their problems, they become depressed, run away from home, give birth to bad lifestyle, get in trouble and may commit suicide. We also wondered how our classmates cope with the difficulties. It turned out that most of our peers don’t solve their problems. But we advise them always to ask for the help of their parents. And parents should first communicate more with their children. Adolescence is an important stage in human development. Features adolescent psychology is recognized as one of the most difficult periods of personality development. This is a difficult time; parents have to go through this period with their children.

This is a difficult time, the parents have to go through with their children. From their side position should be defined and solid. The teenager is no longer a child but not yet an adult. He sees what changes occur with his body, but tests in connection with the conflicting emotions. On the one hand, he realizes that he becomes similar to adults, and that this process is natural. On the other hand, the changes scare teenager, he hesitates, especially if puberty had came a little earlier than his peers.

What are the problems of the youth? Youth is the time when a person is trying to find his place in the world and the life. And during this search young people have different problems which in my opinion are as important as those of the adults. The youth of the twenty first century face almost the same problems which were acute to their parents when they were young. Adults always complain that the young people are not what they were. These words are repeated from generation to generation. I think that undoubtedly it is correct. Today the youth have good education, they grow up more quickly and they get more freedom. The adults always teach the young people how to live. They apply old standards to the new way of life. The youth know what they want. They prefer to make their own mistakes. The young people want to live their own life. The very important problem of the youth is the relationship of young people with their friends. In present time such problems as violence, AIDS, drugs and alcohol are more associated with young people.

Many teenagers who have drug or alcohol addiction almost never believe that they are dependent. These things are often combined with problems at school and with problems at home. A lot of teenagers get upset when they can not solve their problems. As a result it makes them believe that there is only one way out- to stop living and commit suicide. In Great Britain to be a success is important, that is when all young people in Britain want to work hard and be a success. But in Britain young people have problems. Almost half of teenagers have an experience with drugs, alcohol under age of 16. I think that in Russia young people have problems too. Violence, AIDS, drugs, alcohol are associated with young people. Teenagers in Russia have problems at home and at school. Many young people lack understanding on the part on their own parents. They say that their parents are indifferent to their problems. I think different information on this problem is provided by mass media and school. I think that all people in the world have problems. I think to get good education it is a very important problem. It is necessary to pay for good education. I think it is difficult to learn English language, without additional classes. Also there are many different problems. We have some problems but we are sure that we solve them in a proper way.
