I am 14 years old and I am proud to be called teenager. I have a lovely family, good friends and soon I will go to university. People around me are very positive and optimistic, but not everyone. Many of us have problems and today I would like to speak about the problems of teenagers.

If you ask any teenager, many of them can tell you about the problems.

Any teenager of 13-15 is not really sure about future profession. Only few of us can say that they want to be doctors, teachers or economists. But most of us can not answer exactly what they want to do in future. The reasons can be different, but we have to make the most important decision of our life I think.

Another problem is bullying. Well this problem is popular not only in my country but all over the world. The only thing is that in America and Europe people are not afraid to speak about, but our countries still keep silence. But I can say that every town and every school suffer because of bullying and not only pupils, but teachers and parents as well.

One more popular problem is health of many teenagers. Today many of us have diseases that our parents had never suffered. And I think this is happening because of using drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. Of course some teenagers can be proud of the healthy life style, but many of teenagers become dependent on that poison.

Addiction to computers and phones is another problem to think how we spend our life. Many parents don’t pay attention on how much time we use internet, watch tv or chatting. Instead we could read a book, study language, help to our parents, breath fresh air.

As you can see teenagers also have many problems. But if you think properly you can understand we invent these problems by ourself. Just be smart and think in advance and I am sure you will be a happy teenager.

Everybody says your youth is probably the best time of young life, that being young means romance, love, new discoveries & so on. But it is also the most difficult time because you have to make some very important decisions, which will influence all your future life.

Things are not easy nowadays even for adults, but for teen-ages, who have to find their own place in society, it’s very difficult. It’s necessary not only to adapt to your society, but also to be confident about your position in 5, 10 or 20 years time.

For your future it is essential to have a good job. Every girl or boy leaving secondary school should choose an institution of higher education, or if he or she doesn’t want to study any more, choose a job straight way.

Put even if you are studying, you need money of your own to pay for extra clothes, tapes, books. It something the problem.

Emotional problems for young people can be far more difficult than financial ones. The typical teenager problem is drug-habit. Some young man use drugs, because they think that will be cool guys. But they don’t understand, that it’s wrong. Some of them can’t stop that, and they become dependent on drugs. And they commit different serious crimes, because they need some money to buy drugs.

Youth is also the time to meet your first love. It is, of course, wonderful, but, as it is widely known that first love often has an unhappy end, this also increases young people’s problems.

We also face the problem how to spend our free time. We can do it in different ways. Some of teen-ages spend their free time in different night clubs. Other young people spend their free time in the streets.

Another typical problem for most of the teen-ages is problem with their parents. Leo Tolstoy said: “All families are happy in the similar way and unhappy in its own way”. And happiness or unhappiness of any family mostly depends on relations in it.

So many families so many family relations. Each family establishes its own relations in its own way. It has its own traditions & customs & its own unwritten constitution including rights & duties of every member of the family. The level of democracy is also different in different families, which mostly depends on the viewpoints of adults usually not coinciding with a child’s point of view. So the problem of misunderstanding becomes urgent. Some people can it generation gap. It as a rule sharpens as soon as a child approaches his or her difficult teens. And both sides (parents & children) should be patient & tactful & it’s the only way to settle down all the problems & stay friends.

Parents say that its difficult to discipline children. But experts state that parents will get the best results if they try to prevent or stop misbehavior in natural, logical & when possible fun ways. Here are some pieces of advice to help them keep their kids in line.

So, as you see, it is very difficult to be young nowadays, as, need, it always was. But you only can be young once, & some wonderful things can happen only when you’re young. So, it is be to enjoy youth while it lasts.

Life used to be fun for 'teenagers'. They used to have money to spend, and free time to spend it in. They used to wear teenage clothes, and meet in teenage coffee bars and discos. Some of them still do. But for many young people, life is harder now. Jobs are difficult to find. There's not so much money around. Things are more expensive, and it's hard to find a place to live.

Teachers say that students work harder than they used to. They are less interested in politics, and more interested in passing exams. They know that good exam results may get them better jobs.

Most young people worry more about money than their parents did twenty years ago. They try to spend less and save more. They want to be able to get homes of their own one day.

For some, the answer to unemployment is to leave home and look for work in one of Britain's big cities. Every day hundreds of young people arrive in London from other parts of Britain, looking for jobs. Some find work, and stay. Others don't find it, and go home again, or join the many unemployed in London. There used to be one kind of teenage fashion, one style, one top pop group. Then, the girls all wore mini-skirts and everyone danced to the music of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

But now an eighteen-year-old might be a punk, with green hair and chains round his legs, or a skin head, with short, short hair and right wing politics, or a 'rasta', with long uncombed hair and a love for Africa. There's a lot of different music around too. There's reggae, the West Indian sound, there's rock, there's heavy metal, country and western, and disco. All these kinds of music are played by different groups and listened to by different fans.

When you read the newspapers and watch the news on television, it's easy to get the idea that British young people are all unemployed, angry and in trouble.

But that's not true. Three quarters of them do more or less what their parents did. They do their best at school, find some kind of work in the end, and get married in their early twenties. They get on well with their parents, and enjoy family life. They eat fish and chips, watch football on TV, go to the pub, and like reading about pop stars. After all, if they didn't, they wouldn't be British, would they?
