To begin with, I’d like to say that I can answer this question easily. I have been teaching English for 25 years. It’s quite a long period! Thanks God I chose this profession many years ago.
I have always wanted to become a teacher of English as I have been listening to foreign music all my life. English is a real treasure of mine because I can use it in my life and teach my pupils to communicate with the whole world.
As the time passed teaching has become more difficult job of great responsibility. To my mind, it’s much more difficult to create a good atmosphere in class now. Each child has a different character. And I have to discover the best qualities of my children. I should cultivate honesty, kindness, loyalty, cooperation.
I like to communicate with my students. I suppose personal relationships between teacher and pupils should be founded on respect for a person. Pupils mostly respect their teacher when his knowledge and skills are at a higher level than that of his pupils. That’s why I study a lot. I constantly improve the content and method of teaching. My interests are far wider than the school curriculum. I think it’s important to explain a difficult point clearly and use many ways of presenting information. I create the situations in which the students make discoveries for themselves. I give them activities which lead to real exchange of views. I am sure the students must be relieved of the stress and boredom that often blocks learning.
I’m proud of my honorable profession. A lot depends on me, on my skills, experience and knowledge. I bring up the new generation. It is a noble task. I prepare the pupils for real life situations.
Love for children, an ability to communicate with them, understand and teach them – these are the most important qualities of a good teacher. It is difficult to be ideal teacher. But I try to be competence, well equipped, meticulously organized, professionally conscientious.
It’s difficult to form positive attitudes to learning now, that’s why I study pupils abilities and aptitudes. It is important to create a good atmosphere in class. I try to bring satisfaction and happiness into my classroom. I’m sure my energy and the pleasure I take in my job can transform dull textbooks and low my students’ stress.
I want our school to be the place of living and learning. I enjoy my work greatly!

An ideal teacher
Who’s an ideal teacher? What qualities should a human have to be a good one? What are the most important things the good teacher can’t be without? All these questions are eternal and people of all times tried to answer them. Sir Donald D. Quinn, the famous scientist once said: “If a doctor, lawyer, or dentist had 40 people in his office at one time, all of whom had different needs, and some of whom didn't want to be there and were causing trouble, and the doctor, lawyer, or dentist, without assistance, had to treat them all with professional excellence for nine months, then he might have some conception of the classroom teacher's job.” I can’t but agree with him. Teaching profession is one of the most difficult ones in different aspects.
A good teacher should encourage and inspire his/her pupils to think beyond their confines and help them to realize their talents as well as the need to pursue them with diligence. An ideal teacher is a true builder of the nation, he builds an everlasting impression on the minds of his students. The hardworking and hard task masters are always remembered and loved by the students later.
The most important characteristic of a teacher is patience. Teacher should never lose his patience in class when students ask question repeatedly. He should explain each and every aspect of the topic in the easiest way. Before going into the class a good teacher will always prepare the lecture thoroughly. Then he can clear all confusion of the students and feel confidence in the class.
The other important treat is competence in this or that subject. A good teacher is a master, he is ready to answer on everything the students need. To be self competent a teacher should be up to date with all the new technologies in his or her educational sphere, use the Internet in the work, attend seminars and self educate himself. I’m a teacher already and use modern technologies in my work, search for the interesting information on the Internet every day, use a lot of demonstrative posters, newsparers, magazines,films about English speaking countries. But at the same time we can’t deny that every teacher is a unique one and has his own character ( some of them are strict and authoritarian, others are gentle and kind) and methods of teaching. It’s difficult to say who is better a strict and cruel teacher or kind and liberal one. However probably students of strict teachers have better results. But it’s just in theory. Their studying results maybe much better but what about their minds? They learn because they are frightened, not because they want to know. At the same time students of kind teachers don’t want to do anything, they “feel” that a teacher is not strict , he’s not an authority, so why study? Why should they obey? So as you can see it’s important to find “a happy medium”. But it’s easier said than done and it’s almost impossible when you have no experience ,high level of knowledge and some managing abilities.
To sum it up I’d like to notice that teaching is certainly a noble profession but we need to be passionate about it. Love and patience should guide us whatever we do. When you have love and passion for your subject and teaching you will automatically forget the line dividing between the teacher and the taught. You try to explain anything by placing yourself into a student’s place. Your soul aim then becomes making a topic clear to the student in every and any possible way. You have to pass on interest and passion to the student.
Some people think that young people should follow in their parents' footsteps when choosing a profession
Choosing a future profession is not an easy decision. Very often we need help or recommendation of our friends or relatives. I think the best advice we can get from our parents. They wish us the best, they know us and they have already experience in this life. But of course we have to do decision by ourself.
Some people think that children should follow in their parents’ footsteps when choosing a profession. It’s an interesting experience, because even when you are a child and see what your parents are doing, you understand their job more or less. For example, I know already all pluses and minuses of my mom’s and dad’s job and I am ready for this. I know which education I need, which subjects to learn and how much busy I will be in future. The other jobs look nice to me, but I see only pluses. So I think that in future I can be disappointed if I choose to be a lawyer or judge, policeman or shop-assistant.
From the other side we have to do our own mistakes. If I become a secretary like my mom, I will never know about the other professions that are interesting to me. Maybe my vocation is to become a manager or a teacher. That’s why very often I hear that children should choose some different profession in future. Experience of our family members is important, so we can listen to their opinion, but we have to make our own mistakes.
Also I know few guys with good knowledge and abilities, but the parents’ jobs are not good for them. One deserves to become a programmer and another one is good in sport.
So whatever you want to choose, you need to decide by yourself. I am ready to follow my parents’ footsteps. But it’s not a recommendation for everyone.

Выбор будущей профессии - нелегкое решение. Очень часто нам нужна помощь и совет наших друзей и членов семьи. Мне кажется, лучший совет мы сможем получить только от наших родителей. Они желают нам только самого лучшего, знают нас лучше остальных и у них накопился приличный жизненный опыт. Но конечно, решение должны мы принять сами.
Некоторые люди считают, что дети должны следовать примеру родителей и выбрать такую же профессию. Это интересный опыт, потому что даже будучи ещё ребёнком, вы видите, чем именно занимаются мама с папой и более или менее понимаете их обязанности. Например, я уже знаю все плюсы и минусы родительской работы и, в принципе, готова следовать по их стопам. Я знаю, какое образование мне нужно, какие предметы должна изучать и насколько сильно я буду занята с такой работой. Мне также нравятся и другие профессии, но, честно, в них я замечаю только плюсы. Поэтому в будущем я могу быть разочарована, если стану, скажем, адвокатом или судьей, полицейским или продавцом магазина.
С другой стороны, мы ведь сами должны совершать свои ошибки. Если я стану секретарем, как моя мама, я никогда не узнаю все прелести тех профессий, которые мне также интересны. Может, мое призвание стать менеджером или учителем.
Вот поэтому так часто слышу, что дети должны выбрать другую профессию, а не родительскую. Опыт моих родителей и родных важен. Так что мы должны выслушать их мнение по поводу будущей профессии, но свои ошибку должны совершать сами.
А ещё я знаю нескольких ребят, с отличными знаниями и способностями, но работа их родителей - точно не для них. Один из этих парней в будущем станет достойным программистом, а другому легко даётся спорт.
И так, что бы вы не выбрали, решать вы должны самостоятельно. Я готов пойти по следам родителей. Но вряд ли это достойный совет для каждого из нас.
Далеко не секрет, что в русский язык по необходимости вошло огромное количество иностранных слов, в частности английских. Также как и в нашу жизнь вошло множество иностранных понятий и идей. Подумайте сами, изобретать свои слова и выражения для описания чужих понятий — дело довольно пыльное, и вообще провальное. Поэтому с новым понятием, которое один берет у другого, он берет и самое слово, выражающее это понятие. А неудачно придуманное русское слово для выражения какого–нибудь понятия не только не лучше, но основательно хуже иностранного слова. It’s a fact, that the problem of learning languages is still under discussion. Obviously, foreign languages are socially demanded nowadays. As you know, one of the most important languages is, of course, English. It’s a language of international communication in various spheres of modern society. That’s why some people believe, that English should be the only foreign language taught at our schools and colleges. However, others reckon that humans should pay their attention to various languages as well.
To my mind, it’s much better when people can learn different foreign languages. I think this way because of the following reasons. First of all, this occupation gives a lot of pleasure, fun, and joy. Secondly, you will be able to communicate with foreigners from English–speaking countries and people whose mother tongue is German or Japanese, for example. Of course, it's up to what language except for English you're going to learn. Anyway, it sounds utterly encouraging. Thirdly, every language is a unique and charming world. Therefore, you can gain knowledge in cultural background, history, traditions, and customs. In other words, it gives you an opportunity to think outside the box and be more flexible.
Nonetheless, there is plenty of humans who strongly believe, that English is the only language you should spend your time on. According to their point of view, it’s the most important and needed language for people living in the 21st century. Moreover, almost all information is presented in English, therefore learning this language will be very useful for future life and further career. Finally, you don't have to puzzle over a problem what foreign language is better to study. In other words, that’s quite convenient.
In conclusion, I'd like to say, that everybody can choose between studying only English or other foreign languages. In any case, it depends on your own decision, because we're all different and have various likes and dislikes. That's a well–known fact that currently, the knowledge of the English language is really urgent. However, in my humble opinion, we should tend to broaden our horizons. The best way to do this is to start learning some foreign languages. The world is your oyster.

Конечно, это зависит от того, какой язык кроме английского, вы собираетесь учить. В любом случае, это звучит весьма воодушевляюще. В–третьих, каждый язык — это уникальный и чарующий мир. Поэтому вы можете многое узнать из области культуры, истории, традиций и обычаев.
Другими словами, это позволит вам мыслить широко и быть более гибкими.
Тем не менее, есть много людей, которые твердо верят, что английский — единственный язык, на который стоит тратить свое время. По их мнению, это самый важный и необходимый язык для людей, живущих в XXI веке. Более того, почти вся информация представлена на английском, поэтому его изучение будет очень полезно для будущей жизни и дальнейшей карьеры. И наконец, вам не нужно ломать голову над проблемой, какой иностранный язык лучше изучать. Другими словами, это довольно удобно.
В заключение, хотелось бы сказать, что каждый может выбрать между изучением только английского либо других иностранных языков. В любом случае, это зависит от вашего собственного решения, потому что мы все отличаемся, и наши вкусы разнятся. Это хорошо известный факт, что в настоящее время знание английского языка действительно актуально. Однако, по моему скромному мнению, мы должны стремиться расширить наш кругозор. Лучший способ сделать это — начать изучать иностранные языки. Весь мир у ваших ног.
