Доклад к проекту

Мой родной город — Сургут. Он расположен в Западной Сибири, в среднем течении реки Обь и относится к Ханты-Мансийскому автономному округу.

История и символы

Флаг и герб города двухцветные. Верхняя половина — жёлтая, а нижняя — синяя. По ним изображена идущая лисица чёрного цвета с серебряным хвостом.

Город был основан в 1594 году, как опорная крепость. Долгое время численность населения здесь была очень низкой. Но позже Сургут стал крупным торговым центром.

В начале 20 века он использовался также как место ссылки политзаключённых.

Современный Сургут

Сейчас это прекрасный город со всей современной инфраструктурой. По уровню дохода он находится на третьем месте в стране. В нём проживает почти 400 тысяч человек.

Это важный промышленный, финансовый и культурный центр Югры.

Это город нефтяников и геологоразведчиков.

У нас есть несколько музеев, концертные залы, филармония, драматический театр. У нас проходят несколько международных фестивалей.

В Сургуте действуют четыре высших учебных заведения и более десятка филиалов.

Достопримечательности

Одной из знаковых достопримечательностей Сургута является скульптура, изображающая его основателей. Это шестиметровые фигуры князя, купца и казака.

Также узнаваем знаменитый вантовый мост через Обь. Его общая длина составляет почти 15 километров, а пилон, удерживающий полотно моста, возвышается на 150 метров над уровнем реки.

Другой интересной достопримечательностью следует назвать храм Преображения Господня, одну из самых больших церквей в Сибири.

Памятные места воинской славы

У нас свято чтут память о героях Великой Отечественной войны.

Главным памятником является мемориал Славы, возле которого горит Вечный огонь, и расположены плиты с именами сургутян, павших на полях сражений. Здесь стоит и пушка времён Великой Отечественной.

Ещё одним памятникам воинам-победителям является обелиск, посвящённый ушедшим на фронт землякам.

Вывод: за что я люблю свой город Сургут

Мой город — один из самых лучших в мире, и я его очень люблю. Я люблю его улицы и проспекты, его парки и скверы, самые лучшие в мире памятники. Я люблю его архитектуру и его людей.

Я желаю, чтобы мой город стал ещё лучше, красивей и чище. Чтобы в нём жили только добрые и хорошие люди.

The town of Surgut is located on the middle watercourse of the Ob, in latitude 61 North. On the climatic conditions the area is equal to the Far North: winter lasts about seven months in the year. Surgut was founded in 1594 by the Cossack group, headed by the prince Fyodor Boryatinsky. The favorable geographical position, convenient waterways made Surgut the centre of a huge uyezd.

In 1785 the Empress Ekaterina II approved the emblem of the town on which a silver fox symbolizes the riches of Surgut. The present emblem was adopted by Decision of the town Duma №273-III GD dated November 4, 2003, out into State heraldic register of the RF, registered as number 1207. Heraldic description describes: "Black fox with silver tail which is walking on the light blue land is in the golden field".

Surgut has gotten a new birth after the opening of large oil in the Middle Priobje at the beginning of 60th. The youth from all republics of the huge Soviet country went to develop oil fields and to build new towns . The population of Surgut has increased since 1960 and accounted for over 490 ths. people. Surgut takes the second place among the towns of the Tyumen Region regarding the number of the population. On the results of Census 2012 63% of Russians, over 11% of Ukrainians, 5.3% of Tartars, 1.6% of Byelorussians, 0.3% of Khanty and Mansi, representatives over 90 nationalities live in Surgut.

JSC "Surgutgasprom" transports over 70 billion cubic m of gas, processes about 4 million tons of gas per year. Surgut hydroelectric power station 1 and hydroelectric power station - 2, with the total capacity of 8 thousand mw, provide with the electric power not only the Tyumen area, but deliver energy in other regions of Russia and export. Surgut is a powerful energetic center of the country. In 1972 hydroelectric power station –1 which worked on associate oil gas generated electricity and in several years it was started the construction of hydroelectric power station – 2. These power stations operate on associated gas, one of the most powerful in the world.

The system of higher and secondary educational institutions including the State University, State Pedagogical Institute, some branches of high schools, oil technical school, medical school, musical school, professional colleges are created in the town. The institutions of culture and healthcare are intensively developing. Recently Sports health-improving center "Energetic", equipped with up-to-date medical equipment, Children's clinic were opened, new buildings of Surgut State university and Surgut Teachers' Training University were put into operation, Gerontological center is placed not far from the town.

Surgut is a unique alive body with its face and the internal laws, determining its general condition and emotional health. Its essence is shown in the interaction with other territories: the Okrug, near and far areas and town. The "Geographical palette" of the partners of Surgut, without exaggeration, includes up to fifty towns and Regions of Russia, far and near foreign countries.

My Hometown или My Homecity?

Отмечу такой момент. Вы наверняка знаете, что town — это маленький городок, а city — большой город. Кажется логичным, что, если вы из Москвы, то нужно писать homecity, не так ли? На самом деле, не совсем так. Слово homecity в принципе возможно и понятно, но обычно под hometown подразумевают родной город независимо от его размеров. Вот пример из Cambridge Dictionary:

It is a very lively place, located in Central Russia. It was founded in 1221. Back then it used to be a major trading hub. People from all over the country came to Nizhny Novgorod to buy and sell goods. Now it has a population of one million and five hundred thousand citizens, it is the 6th biggest city in Russia.

Nowadays it is a large city with a big city center and suburbs. A lot of companies have their headquarters in Nizhny Novgorod. It is one of the biggest economic centers in Russia.

Of course, each city has its advantages and disadvantages. Let’s start with the advantages. There are many ways of transportation in Nizhny Novgorod. You can travel by bus, by trolley, you can even take the underground. Also, Nizhny Novgorod has an advantageous geographical location because it is located between two major cities — Moscow and Kazan.

However, there are also some disadvantages. First of all, it is very dirty and noisy because of traffic jams. Second, it hasn’t got a lot of public areas, such as parks, where you can spend your time with friends. Third, life here is pretty expensive, and the prices of houses and apartments are quite high.
