All people like watching films and series. Of course, they differ depending on the preferences of a particular person. For example, my Grandmother likes chick-flicks, my Mother likes detective films, my husband and my Grandfather like comedies and I like them, too. I also like mystery films. I hate art house films and most of chick-flicks. It’ is not my cup of tea.

As I like many films, it is hard to say what film is my most favourite one. I like almost all films with Jackie Chan. I like such films as “Pirates of the Caribbean”, actually, all parts of it, “Van Helsing” with Hugh Jackman. So, maybe, there is the sense to tell about the film which impressed me most of all.
“Hachi: A Dog’s Tale” is a film which impressed me more than other films I have ever seen though I do not like films which make me cry. Maybe, it is a bit trivial but it is so. Of course, I cried at the end of the film like almost all people who watched this film. It is a very kind and moving film.
I was really moved when I knew that this film was based on a real life story. Maybe, it was the fact which made me feel this story deeply. It is a story about the dog which went to the railroad station to meet its deceased master every day over nine years.

MY FAVORITE MOVIE
I like movies very much, especially fantasy. My favorite movie is Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The movie came out in 2001, but it is still very good. Of course, I have seen all the Harry Potter movies, but the first one is special for me.
The movie is set in modern England and in a fictional place called Hogwarts. The story is a mixture of real-life drama and fantasy. The main character of the movie is a ten-year-old orphan Harry. His parents died when he was a baby, and now he lives with his foster parents and his stepbrother who do not like him. Although Harry has a family, he is a very lonely boy.
What I like about this movie is how drastically Harry’s life changed one day. On his eleventh birthday he was invited to study at Hogwarts, the magic school that, as it turned out, his parents attended. He started learning how to use magic and fly on a broomstick. He found good friends and a new home. At the beginning of the movie, Harry is just an ordinary boy. At the end of the movie, he is a hero and one of the most promising young wizards in Hogwarts.
In the following movies, Harry’s story continues, but I like the first one the most. For me, it is not just a story about magic, wands, spells, it is a story about ordinary people and friendship. Yes, Harry, Ron, and Hermione can cast spells, but do not seem to be some sort of mysterious creatures. For us, they are just normal people. They speak and act like any kids of their age. I like Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone because it is the beginning of their story. The storylines of the main characters develop as they grow up in the other movies, but it is so nice to see them at the beginning of their journey.

The first successful permanent theatre showing only movies was "The Nickelodeon" in Pittsburgh in 1905. And in 1907 movies started to be based on the literature works. Nowadays there are a lot of different versions of one book that you can watch on a big screen.
And if we are talking about cinema theatres, you might be surprised with several different types of cinema theatres: Multiplex, Imax, Independent, Second–Run and Drive–In.
Also it’s safe to say that movies are a powerful force in our modern world. Cinema is used in the field of education. Video classes are really useful when we are talking about studying foreign languages. They can help you to see something wonderful in the world, even if you never leave your place. The news on TV helps to know what happens in the world every day. It also helps to draw the attention of people to different important problems like hunger, poverty, environmental problems and so on.
Cinema is a great entertainment. It’s a pleasant way to relax and get pleasure, while watching something on the screen. Nowadays people can’t just imagine their life without cinematographic art.

My favourite film is Avatar, which was directed by James Cameron. He is also the author of another famous film Titanic. Avatar is an action and fantasy film.
Jack, the main character of the film, is a physically challenged person.
As his brother was ready to go to Pandora but he died before he could arrive, Jack got a chance to go there and take over his brother’s task in Pandora. Humans were going to get natural resources from Pandora and Jack was ordered to persuade the Pandora people to give them resources.
Later he becomes the leader of navi. He not only lives a full life, but also learns about local customs, culture and residents in general. The film shows a world in which there are many different unusual animals and plants. There is a divine tree that stores all the information about all living things on the planet. The main theme of the film is the struggle of good against evil. The avatar is thought-provoking. It makes us think about our actions and attitude to life. The film keeps in suspense.
There are many reasons for why you should watch this film. The special effects, a beautiful and meaningful story. I think everybody will enjoy the film and love it.

Each of the seven volumes describes a year of school life of Harry Potter. Volume 1 was published in 1997. Volume 7 was published on July 21, 2007 in English. There are 7 parts of the film. They are very interesting and breathtaking! The first, second and third parts (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) are my favorite parts. I watched these films in Russian. I also want to watch them in English.
In my opinion, the actors in this film are very talented: Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, etc… And I think that this film is interesting not only for the children, but also for the adults.

Forrest Gump is one of my all-time favorites. This film captivates with its naivety and touching. He is so soulful that it is difficult to convey in words! I recommend to everyone for viewing!

I would like to underline that the movie teaches us about the importance of friendship and the value of being patient. This film universe is like a fairy tale about hope and faith in yourself and friends. And about self-sacrifice for the sake of others.
