International relations are an exceptionally important aspect of citizenship in a global society. As our world becomes smaller and smaller through communication technology, rapid air transportation and a complex international economy, the value of peaceful and cooperative relationships between nations is increasingly important.
Historically, one of the oldest expressions of international relations was the establishment of treaties and agreements between nations. Maintenance of these treaties ensured that ordinary people could go about their everyday tasks of earning a living and raising their families rather than dedicating themselves to armed conflict with neighbors. This function of international relations remains just as relevant today.
Positive international relations also promote effective trade policies between nations in terms of importing natural resources and finished products not available in the country.
Besides the transport of goods over international borders, people also frequently migrate between countries, looking for opportunities to enhance their lives. This travel may be temporary or permanent, but in either case it must be regulated to ensure the rule of law as criminals must be kept out of the country while legitimate business, tourist and immigrant travel is preserved.
Nations often face global issues that are larger than any specific country or even continent, such as concerns over the environment, pandemics and terrorism. Sound international relations are required for nations to cooperate effectively to meet these challenges, allowing nations to share relevant information quickly and pool resources.
International relations are not only about regulating and controlling the flow of goods and information, they are also advantageous for promoting the advancement of human culture in a general way. The diversity of world cultures can be promoted and shared through enlightened international relations policies, allowing programs such as student exchanges and cultural exhibitions to enhance our understanding of the variety of human expression worldwide.
What is the position of Belarus on the international arena?
At present Belarus actively participates in an effective international partnership with the governments of different states and international organizations. As a co-founder of the United Nations, Belarus cooperates with various institutions and organizations of the United Nations, World Bank, World Health Organization, International Labor Organization, UNESCO, the European Union, etc. Belarus has a friendly working relationship with such countries as Germany, Denmark, France, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Great Britain, The USA and many others.
As a sovereign country, Belarus enjoys full rights and is active on the foreign arena. From the moment of setting up the United Nations Organization(UNO) Belarus as one of its constituent member states takes an active part in the work of this association, its organs and institutions. Belarus regularly sends its delegations to the sessions of the UNO General Assembly, has its permanent delegation and its own staff in it. Belarus is a member of some international specialized organizations, commissions, bureaus, funds and other organs.
On the initiative of Belarus the international organizations have adopted a number of important decisions, particularly on the punishment of war criminals, on education of youth in the spirit of ideas of peace and friendship among nations. Belarus has signed many treaties, agreements, protocols and conventions on co-operation with other countries in various fields. Together with representatives of other peace-loving countries the envoys of Belarus are struggling for implementing a policy that answers the basic interests of all nations of the world, for their peace and security, co-operation and friendship.
Our modern world is quickly turning into the gigantic global community. Each country wants to declare and promote its own national interests. Sovereign Belarus also tries to take its own place on the international arena. Our country builds up mutually beneficial relations with other countries. Nowadays Belarus represented in 56 countries all over the world. Our country takes an active part in the development of the global community in different spheres of life.
The Republic of Belarus organizes and takes part in different international cultural events. International Art Festival “Slavyansky Bazar” is annually held in Vitebsk. For the first time the festival was organized in 1992. Today participants from 46 countries attend this annual cultural event. Another international event is International Fashion Show “Belarus Fashion Week”. This annual event is held twice a year and it aims at the development of fashion industry both in Belarus and in the world. If you are a talented and creative person willing to take part in something interesting you should visit Belarus because here you can choose from different events. They are International Festival of Young Talents “the Earth Under White Wings”, International Children’s Festival “Golden Bee”, International Folk Art Festival “Wreath of Friendship”, International Theatre Festival “White Tower”, Minsk International Film Festival “Listapad”, International Festival of Animated Films “Animaevka” and many, many others. Even those who like fishing can visit our country and take part in International Bard Music and Fishing Festival.
Belarus is a country that attracts tourists from all over the world. Our country actively cooperates with UNESCO and four beautiful places included in the UNESCO heritage list are located in Belarus: Belavezhskaya Pushcha National Park, Nesvizh Castle, Mir Castle and the Struve Geodetic Arc. UNESCO cooperates with 50 historical clubs in Belarus. One of the most popular is “Klio”. Belarus also has its own 4 Nobel Prize nominees in the sphere of culture and art and 1 winner, Svetlana Alexievich, for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
Belarus also takes an active part in the sphere of foreign policy and global security. It is one of the founders of the United Nations Organization (UNO). Within Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Belarus is a member of the two largest alliances: the Commonwealth of Independent States (the CIS), and European-Asian Economic Union (EAEU). Besides being a member of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Belarus is a partner of the “Shanghai Cooperation Organization”, it is an active participant of the “Helsinki +40” process, the member of the Organization for the Security Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and others.
Integration of the republic of Belarus into the world economy depends on the cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank Group (WBG) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Belarus also cooperates with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).it is also a member of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) and the Central European Initiative or the CEI.
Belarus takes an active part in the sphere of international telecommunications, information and banking technologies forum TIBO. Among the most successful bilateral IT achievements are Viber and World of Tanks (WoT).
Belarus is a responsible party to 24 international conventions on environmental protection.
Belarus has become one of the main medical tourism destinations in Europe as it provides foreigners with a complicated surgery or in-hospital treatment.
In the sphere of education Belarus joined the Bologna Process which aims at creating European Higher Education Area.
The republic of Belarus is an active member of the world sports movement. It hosts different international championships. The names of Belarusian Olympic Champions are well-known all over the world. Several Belarusian sportsmen are registered in the Guinness Book of Records.
So, according to all mentioned above we can say that our country is a good place to live and develop ourselves.
When living in the modern progressive society we have to deal with different international organizations either we know it or not. The formation of international organizations started mainly in 20 th century with the goal to improve and develop international relations and to preserve peace and safety of nations. European community, Interpol, all of them have a great impact on international relationships between countries.
European Community is one of the oldest organizations, founded after the World War Two when European countries were weak and vulnerable and Soviet Union and USA were dominant on the world arena. So Europe had to find its place in the world and it was decided to form European Economic Community run by European Parliament which has set certain rules for every member to follow. The main goal was to improve trade and agriculture relationships.
Brussels is the headquarters of the organizations and it has over 1500 of employees. It works on developing business, trade, industry, education. The European Community supports different scientific researches, medicine, protects human rights.
Interpol, or International Criminal Police Organization, is another large organization having 184 member countries. Mainly Interpol works on controlling criminals abandoning their usual place of residence and travelling abroad. Interpol informs local national bureaus about them and prevents committing offences or crimes. It also investigates different criminal activities: people and drug traffic, terrorism, organized crime. Interpol is not participating in any political, religious or military events.
Обитая в современном прогрессивном обществе, нам приходится иметь дело с различными международными организациями, знаем мы это или нет. Образование международных организаций началось в основном в 20 веке с целью улучшить и развивать международные отношения, а также сохранять мир и безопасность народов. Европейское сообщество, Интерпол, все они оказывают большое влияние на международные отношения между странами.
Европейское сообщество – одна из самых старых организаций, основанная после Второй мировой Войны, когда европейские страны были ослаблены и уязвимы, а Советский Союз и Соединенные Штаты преобладали на мировой арене. Таким образом, Европа была вынуждена найти свое место в мире, и было решено образовать Европейское Экономическое Сообщество во главе с Европейским Парламентом, установившим определенные правила, которым был обязан следовать каждый член сообщества. Основной целью было улучшение торговых и сельскохозяйственных отношений.
В Брюсселе находится штаб-квартира организации, в которой работают более 1500 людей. Они трудятся над развитием бизнеса, торговли, промышленности, образованием. Европейское сообщество поддерживает различные научные и медицинские исследования, защищает гражданские права.
Интерпол, или Международная Организация Криминальной полиции, еще одна обширная организация, располагающаяся в 184 странах. В основном Интерпол занимается контролем преступников, оставляющих свое привычное место жительства и уезжающих за границу. Интерпол сообщает о них местным отделениям полиции и тем самым предотвращает совершения нападений или преступлений. Он также расследует различную преступную деятельность: торговлю людьми и наркотиками, терроризм, организованную преступность. Интерпол не принимает участия в каких-либо политических, религиозных или военных мероприятиях.

Conclusion: I can confidently say that international cooperation helps individuals and even entire educational organizations to develop. Such programs open up many opportunities, show the big world. I believe that every school should give students and teachers the opportunity to participate in international cooperation in education, which is an important part of the educational process.
