Essay on Environmental Protection

Our planet Earth is only a tiny part of the universe, and it is so far the only place where human beings can live.

We always polluted our surroundings. But until now pollution was not such a huge problem. People lived in the countryside and couldn’t produce such amount of pollution that would lead to a dangerous situation on a global scale.

With the development of industrial cities, which create huge amounts of pollutants, the problem has become real. Nowadays our planet is in serious danger. Global warming, acid rains, air and water pollution, overpopulation are the problems that threaten human lives on the Earth.

Every year world industry pollutes the air that we breathe with. A great number of cities suffer from smog. Rainforests are cut down. Their disappearance upsets the oxygen balance. As a result, some rare species of animals, birds, fish and plants are extinct. A lot of seas, rivers and lakes are filled with poison like industrial and nuclear wastes, chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The pollution of air and the world's ocean, destruction of the ozone layer is the result of man's careless interaction with nature, a sign of the ecological crisis.

People should consider their attitude to the environment. Some progress has already been made in this direction. Numerous conferences have been held by a lot of agencies to discuss problems facing ecologically poor regions including the Aral Sea, the South Urals, Kuzbass, Donbass and Chernobyl. Greenpeace is also doing much to preserve the environment.

What can we do to save our planet? First of all, people should switch to alternative forms of power, such as solar power or wind power. Secondly, the use of atomic power must be banned. Thirdly, we need to recycle. It’s the art of turning waste into new products. It would be a good idea if people started riding bicycles instead of driving cars. We are obliged to protect nature. If everybody cares, it will make a difference.

С развитием промышленных городов, которые производят огромное количество загрязняющих веществ, проблема стала реальной. В наши дни планета находится в серьезной опасности. Глобальное потепление, кислотные дожди, загрязнение воздуха и воды, перенаселенность — это проблемы, которые угрожают жизни людей на Земле.

Каждый год мировая промышленность загрязняет воздух, которым мы дышим. Большое число городов страдает от смога. Тропические леса вырубаются. Их исчезновение нарушает баланс кислорода. В результате исчезают редкие виды животных, птиц, рыб и растений. Множество морей, рек и озер заполнены ядом: промышленными и ядерными отходами, химическими удобрениями и пестицидами. Загрязнение воздуха и мирового океана, разрушение озонового слоя является следствием небрежного взаимодействия человека с природой, признаком экологического кризиса.

Что мы можем сделать, чтобы спасти нашу планету? Прежде всего, люди должны переключиться на альтернативные формы энергии, такие как солнечная энергия или энергия ветра. Во–вторых, использование атомной энергии должно быть запрещено. В–третьих, необходимо заниматься утилизацией и переработкой материалов . Это искусство превращения отходов в новые продукты. Было бы неплохо, если бы люди начали кататься на велосипедах, а не водить автомобили. Мы обязаны защищать природу. Если все будут заботится, это изменит ситуацию.

THE EARTH IS IN DANGER
April 22 is Earth Day. People all over the world think about
our planet. They think about air, water, plants and animals on the
Earth. They say our planet is in danger. Many people do not know
how to protect wild animals and plants, how to keep water clean and
the air fresh. But they are ready to do it. They try and help nature.
Water is very important for life on Earth. It is in our oceans,
seas, rivers and lakes. There is a lot of water on our planet and at
the same time there is little water on it. This is because very little
water on Earth is good for drinking. In many rivers and lakes the
water is very dirty. Sometimes people cannot swim even in the sea
because the sea and the seaside are not clean. In many places the
water is not drinkable and it is dangerous to use it when you cook.
Even fish die in such water.
For example Lake Baikal is the deepest freshwater lake on Earth.
It is 1741 metres deep. The lake is very beautiful but now it is in
great danger, because of the factories which are near it. In some
places the water in the lake is so dirty that it kills the animals and
plants in Baikal and around it.
The way people live has changed the climate on our planet. Nowa-
days the temperature is rising. You do not have real Russian winter
in Moscow any more. In the north of Europe the climate has become
milder and warmer too.
If the temperature grows by 3—4 degrees1 it will become more
difficult to live on the planet.
Some people’s activities do a lot of harm to the forests. People cut
down trees to build farms, homes and roads. Many animals and plants
lose their homes. This is bad for the Earth’s air too. Modern plants2
and factories send a lot of smoke into the atmosphere. This is also
very bad, because nowadays it’s difficult to breathe in big cities.
So, the problem now is to protect life on Earth, and to save our
planet for the future.

I want to tell you about our Earth. I want to say what people ruins and want they can lose.

Many people want to save the Earth, but they don`t know how to do it. They don`t know how to protect wild animals, plants, and how to keep water clean and air fresh. Water is very important in the life of people. There is a lot of water on our planet. It is in rivers, oceans, lakes and seas.

At the same time there is a little water on the planet. In many lakes and rivers the water is very dirty. Sometimes people can`t swim in seas, rivers and lakes because water is dirty. In many places water is not able to drink and it is dangerous to use it when you cook. Even fish die in such water.

В настоящее время воды на планете мало. Во многих озёрах и реках вода очень грязная. Иногда люди не могут плавать в морях, реках и озёрах потому, что вода грязная. Во многих местах вода не употребительна и это опасно, когда ты готовишь. Даже рыба умирает в загрязнённой воде.

Некоторые действия людей наносят много вреда лесам. Люди вырубают деревья, строят фабрики, дома и дороги. Многие животные и растения теряют свои дома. Многие из них погибают. Это плохо для воздуха на земле тоже. Современные заводы и фабрики посылают много дыма в атмосферу. Это очень плохо, потому что сейчас сложно дышать в больших городах.

Итак, сейчас проблема защищать жизнь на земле, и спасти нашу планету для будущего. Я думаю, что мы должны думать о нашей планете, и мы не должны срубать деревья, мусорить в реки. Тогда в будущем мир будет красивым.

People spend huge amounds of money to explore space while lots of people living on the Earth have very dangerous diseses as AIDS. Every day we eat food wich is half of soya or has other non-natural ingredients. We waste a lot of water and polute it at the same time.We invented atomic and nuclear bombs,new spaceships wich could be pushed off the Earth and couse death.It is obviously how successfuly people are destroing their planet. There are lots of environmental problems-endangered species, water shortages, air polution, tones of litter…

Why we can not live without genetically modified products? Because we would not spend a lot of money to buy natural fruits and vegetables, but we want to know all and explore the space, we are starving of spending money again and again!

Do not we want our next generations to be mutated? Of course — no!

People must stop destroing the planet. They have created a lot of ptoblebms so they are responsible for the solution. I think the solution begins with the realization that nobody but we ourselves are hosts of the Earth. We must hurry up to save our planet!

Каждый день мы едим пищу которая наполовину состот из сои или имеет ненатуральные ингридиенты. Мы напрасно тратим много воды и в то же время загрязняем ее. Мы изобрели атомные и ядерные бомбы, новые космические корабли могут быть запущены с Земли и вызвать смерть. Очевидно, как успешено люди уничтожают свою планету. Существует так много проблем — вымирающие виды, нехватка воды, загрязнение воздуха, тонны мусора…

Почему мы не можем жить без генно-модифицированной пищи? Потому что мы не хотим тратить деньги на натуральные фрукты и овощи, но мы хотим знать обо всем на свете и исследовать космос, мы жаждем тратить деньги снова и снова!

Разве мы хотим, что наши следующие поколения были мутантами? Конечно — нет!

Люди должны прекратить уничтожать Землю. Они создали много проблем, поэтому они ответственны за их разрешение. Я думаю, что разрешение начинается с осознания того, что мы сами являемся хозяевами Земли. Мы должны поторопиться, чтобы спасти нашу планету!
