To begin with, I’d like to say that I can answer this question easily. I have been teaching English for 25 years. It’s quite a long period! Thanks God I chose this profession many years ago.
I have always wanted to become a teacher of English as I have been listening to foreign music all my life. English is a real treasure of mine because I can use it in my life and teach my pupils to communicate with the whole world.
As the time passed teaching has become more difficult job of great responsibility. To my mind, it’s much more difficult to create a good atmosphere in class now. Each child has a different character. And I have to discover the best qualities of my children. I should cultivate honesty, kindness, loyalty, cooperation.
I like to communicate with my students. I suppose personal relationships between teacher and pupils should be founded on respect for a person. Pupils mostly respect their teacher when his knowledge and skills are at a higher level than that of his pupils. That’s why I study a lot. I constantly improve the content and method of teaching. My interests are far wider than the school curriculum. I think it’s important to explain a difficult point clearly and use many ways of presenting information. I create the situations in which the students make discoveries for themselves. I give them activities which lead to real exchange of views. I am sure the students must be relieved of the stress and boredom that often blocks learning.
I’m proud of my honorable profession. A lot depends on me, on my skills, experience and knowledge. I bring up the new generation. It is a noble task. I prepare the pupils for real life situations.
Love for children, an ability to communicate with them, understand and teach them – these are the most important qualities of a good teacher. It is difficult to be ideal teacher. But I try to be competence, well equipped, meticulously organized, professionally conscientious.
It’s difficult to form positive attitudes to learning now, that’s why I study pupils abilities and aptitudes. It is important to create a good atmosphere in class. I try to bring satisfaction and happiness into my classroom. I’m sure my energy and the pleasure I take in my job can transform dull textbooks and low my students’ stress.
I want our school to be the place of living and learning. I enjoy my work greatly!
All professions are good I think. What would we do without doctors, engineers, workers? Our life would be completely different without economists, lawyers and of course without teachers.
I wanted to try different professions, because all of them look very interesting. But my vocation is to be a teacher. I have decided that I want to be a teacher of maths. I love children and I am good in maths. Of course I have to learn many things yet and I do my best.
There are few teachers in my family and they are happy with this profession. Sometimes children can make them upset and my relatives can be very busy at school but in general this job makes them happy.
Actually I would like to be a teacher of mathematics and physics. These two subjects are my favorite ones. If I had a chance I would spend twice more time to study these subjects. At the end of school I have to pass exams and pass final tests to go to university.
I think for teacher it’s important to love your subject, to have patience and interest to the children, to explain over and over again. I am this kind of person. I am very attentive to details and I know how to manage with children.
From the other side the salary of a teacher in Russia is not so good. Unfortunately some professions without high education is paid better, than profession of a teacher. It’s not fair, but my choice is so. Maybe one day I will change my mind, but today I feel I am able to help our educational system.
According me this profession is noble, important and very interesting. It’s not only you gonna be a teacher, but also you have to learn many things from your children. The job has to make you happy and then every day you will wake up and go to work with smile.

Я считаю, все профессии по-своему хороши. Только подумайте, что бы мы делали без докторов, инженеров и рабочих? Наша жизнь была бы совершенно иной без экономистов, адвокатов и, конечно же, без учителей.
Мне хотелось попробовать различные профессии, потому что все они кажутся мне достаточно интересными. Но мое призвание - стать учителем. Я решила, что в будущем я хочу стать учителем математики. Я очень люблю деток и отлично разбираюсь в математике. Конечно, мне ещё многому нужно научиться, но я стараюсь, как могу.
В моей семье есть несколько учителей и все они довольны своей профессией. Порой дети огорчают их и мои родные очень устают на работе, но вообще школа делает их счастливыми. Вот поэтому я бы хотела стать учителем математики и физики. Это два самых моих любимых предмета. Если бы у меня была возможность, я бы проводила вдвое больше времени, чтобы учить эти предметы. В конце школы мне нужно будет сдать экзамены и пройти финальные тесты, чтобы поступить в университет.
С другой стороны, зарплата учителя в России не очень высокая. К сожалению, многие профессии без высшего образования оплачиваются куда лучше, чем профессия учителя. Это не честно, но таков мой выбор. Может, однажды я изменю своё решение, но сегодня я чувствую, что смогу помочь нашей системе образования.
Как по мне, это очень благородная, важная и интересная профессия. Вы не просто станете учителем своего предмета, но и вам придётся многому научиться у своих детей. Работа должна сделать вас счастливой и тогда каждый день вы будете просыпаться и ходить на работу с улыбкой.

Люди мечтают летать с древнейших времен. У многих полет ассоциируется с опьяняющей свободой, безудержным счастьем, возможностью достичь недостижимого, реализовать свои планы и мечты. Думаю, что именно эти ощущения испытывали герои некоторых литературных произведений, вопрошая, почему люди не летают так, как птицы.
Умею ли я летать? Думаю, да! Для меня ощущение полета очень значимо и наступает каждый раз, когда и переживаю профессиональный успех. Конечно, такие мгновенья бывают не каждый день. Но они окрыляют и дают силы идти дальше, стремиться к дальнейшему развитию и совершенствованию.
Мечтала ли я стать учителем? Нет! Играла ли в детстве в школу? Нет! Моя мама — учитель русского языка и литературы. И я с детства знала, что учитель не принадлежит своей семье, и вся его жизнь — это тетрадки, планы, совещания и педсоветы. Но я обожала английский язык, иностранные языки вообще. Еще в детском саду я пыталась выучить армянский по букварю соседской девочки-армянки. А после первых же уроков английского языка в 5 классе попросила учителя заниматься со мной еще и французским. Иностранные слова звучали для меня, как музыка, и я усердно слушала пластинки с песнями, уроками английского и мечтала стать переводчиком.
Вот только осуществить свою мечту было нелегко. При поступлении на факультет иностранных языков выяснилось, что деревенская школа, в которой я училась, не способна была обеспечить меня всеми необходимыми знаниями лексики и грамматики, навыками аудирования и пересказа газетных статей. В ней попросту не было лингафонного кабинета, не говоря о наличии газет и книг на английском языке. Я, одна из лучших учениц школы, провалила вступительный экзамен, но не отказалась от мечты. В течение года готовилась самостоятельно: самоучители, пластинки, бумажки с английскими словами во всех комнатах. Утром я учитель начальных классов и учу детей читать и писать, а вечером — зубрю времена глагола и читаю книги на английском языке.
Безусловно, изучение иностранного языка — это тяжкий каждодневный труд. Следовательно, необходимо найти мотив, убедить в необходимости слушать, зубрить, читать, переводить. И запастись большим терпением.
А когда подрастет мой сын, я обязательно ему расскажу о том, что у меня есть два крыла: одно — любовь к детям, а второе — любовь к английскому языку, к своей профессии. И о том, что человек может летать не только во сне, но и наяву. Главное — правильно выбрать профессию!
To be or not to be? There was no question. As far as I remember, I never wanted to become a teacher. It`s my granny, who helped me a lot to make up my mind. She had always dreamt of being a teacher herself and often told me that teachers were saint people. She was talking all the time about her Russian language teacher at school with such tenderness, that I decided to try it. I studied hard and was a good student at the university. I should have become an interpreter, but it could scarcely be!
So here I am. A teacher… Well, I thought it would be much more difficult to find keys to little people…
To my mind, you should be responsible and sensitive to become a good teacher. It is hard for some people but always real and interesting. This profession demands devotion, much patience and fairness in relation to all children.
The main purpose of the education, as I see it, is not only to make children learn facts but to know how to use them. That`s why it is so important to make friends with them. Teachers not only teach they also bring their students up. Moreover, the fact what kind of people they will become, depends mostly upon them, teachers. I hope that every day I do it right for them to become honest, kind, sympathetic and just in the future.
I suppose that the process of teaching will be successful only in case when children know that their teacher loves them, when they are sure they are loved despite their ups and downs, just the way they are. I try with all my heart to create such conditions and such an atmosphere for my children to feel comfortable. And they know I care. Because we are a family. That`s the main thing I appreciate in my profession so much and more than that, I have never regretted that I let my dearest granny make my mind long ago.
A modern school needs a modern teacher. The process of teaching demands the use of up-to-date technologies. The Russian educational system has got a lot of changes now, which are expressed in the use of new programmes, textbooks, teaching methods and so on. But still the main role is kept for the teacher. Permanent self-education and self-improvement is also a part of teacher`s work. While teaching, a teacher is studying himself. How difficult it was for me to give first lessons! How difficult it was to find proper words! How much time it took to get ready for the first classes! Only pure love for my profession helped me to overcome all those difficulties. It is really exciting for me to divine mysteries, to find answers to interesting questions and then to share it with my dearest students.
I am very lucky that I spend my time working with such a wonderful staff. They are wise, experienced teachers, who can give me a hand in different situations and can always give a piece of advice. My colleagues are my associates! I can take them for a model. And it helps me a lot.
As I see, it is not the easiest profession, but still there are many positive moments. I can feel satisfied with the done work, realize my own creative potential, get a supply of energy for moving forward. If you are a teacher you should not be afraid of taking risks, changing, getting educated. It is worth trying, going on, creating.
А great teacher can make any subject your favourite. A bad teacher can do the opposite. These words make me work hard to be sure I am on the right way. Every day I enter the classroom with a smile on my face when I meet my students. The bell rings and they lift their clear curious kind eyes, waiting for me to begin a lesson. I feel responsible. There are a lot of difficulties ahead for us to overcome. And we can manage it, because of our common aspiration for the victory.
I enjoy my work very much! I realize that our efforts are not vain, they need me and I need them too.
A child is not “an empty vessel”, which should be filled, but “a torch”, which should be on fire. And in order to set fire to it, a teacher should be on fire himself.
I am fond of my profession for its mysteries, which are kept in it and for wisdom, which I am rewarded with in the course of time, which makes me go ahead.

Kindergarten, school, university. We are all surrounded by teachers who make a great influence on our life. They bring motivation and inspiration for some students, for others they are a source of neglection and disappointment. Nevertheless, every teacher gives a piece of his soul to his students and leads them to the world of knowledge.
I'm deeply convinced that all teachers in my life were of great importance. I had absolutely different teachers, but one of them has a special place in my heart. Her name is Maria Alexandrovna and she was my English teacher. I met her for the first time when I was in the 8th form. It was my first English lesson in a new school. I wasn't good at languages at that time and I didn't want to be in the classroom. Moreover, she was about 60 or 65 and she seemed really old to me. But it was just an appearance and as they say, appearance is deceptive.
I gradually understood that she was the best teacher I'd ever had. Maria Alexandrovna was a nice and very polite woman. She was in love with her job and the language that she taught incredibly. She was so inspiring for her students that it was a shame to appear not ready for a lesson. Furthermore, she was the only teacher in our school who treated us as adults and expressed respect to us in any situation.
The brightest moment of my education at school is also connected with her. She inspired us to write to some organization in English to tell about our class and our wish to study, and to our surprise, we received an answer with a parcel full of books and other teaching materials. We were so proud of ourselves and so sure that we can achieve whatever we want.
So, talking about teachers I can claim that what goes round comes around. The teacher who treated me with respect and love had the same from me in return. I can't even express how thankful I am and how much I appreciate her hard work.
