I love animals a lot. I think they are real friends and make our life interesting and enjoyable. Domestic animals make us responsible and caring. But I am also crazy about wild animals. They are so independent, graceful and handsome.

Unfortunately today we can not see all the animals have been ever existed. Some of them have died many years ago and we can only see the pictures in the books. And there are animals today that are in danger. Scientists say some of them can disappear even tomorrow. I believe this is happening because of us.

For example everyone knows bisons. These huge and interesting animals today live in reserves and they are protected by conservationists. The weight of an adult bison is about 610 kg. In Russia we have only 600 beings. That’s why today biscuit n and hundred other animals are in a Red Book. Here you can find all species are endangered.

Another endangered animal is dhole. They are dangerous, but still they are part of our world. Also I can mention steller sea lion, Siberian tiger, forest dormouse, Amur leopard and snow leopard. Every year the number of these animals grows. And not only in Russia, but animals of other countries need to be protected.

Scientists say that around 40% of all organisms are likely to become extinct soon.

The reason of extinction is people and our actions. People want to buy and sell teeth, skin, fat of animals. We are also crazy about hunting and fishing. Pollution destroys hundreds species of animals and plants every year all around the world.

We have to think today what we will save for our children and grandchildren. Maybe hares and arctic foxes will be endangered species in 20-50 years, only because now we want to have beautiful clothes made of their skin.

Я очень люблю животных. Они самые настоящие друзья и делают нашу жизнь интереснее и веселее. Домашние животные помогают нам стать ответственными и заботливыми. Но также я обожаю и диких животных. Они такие независимые, грациозные и милые.

К сожалению, сегодня мы не можем увидеть всех тех животных, которые жили когда-либо. Некоторые из них вымерли много лет назад, а нам остались лишь картинки в книгах. Но и сегодня существуют животные на грани вымирания. Ученые утверждают, что некоторые виды могут исчезнуть уже завтра. И я полагаю, что это происходит только из-за нас.

Например, все мы знаем такое животное, как зубр. Эти огромные и интересные создания сегодня живут в заповедниках и находятся под присмотром защитников природы. Вес взрослого зубра достигает 610 кг. И в России их осталось всего 600 особей. Поэтому это животное занесено в Красную Книгу. Здесь же вы найдёте и другие вымирающие виды.

Ещё одним исчезающим видом является горный волк. Они, конечно, опасные, но все-таки животные, которые являются частью нашего мира. Сюда же отнесём морских львов, амурских тигров, лесную соню, дальневосточного леопарда и других. И с каждым годом число вымирающих животных растёт. Не только в России, но и животные других стран нуждаются в защите.

Ученые утверждают, что всего около 40% живых организмов могут вскоре исчезнуть.

А причиной тому являемся мы и наши действия. Люди покупают и продают зубы животных, меха и жир. А ещё нам нравится охота и рыбалка.

Загрязнение окружающей среды также уничтожает сотни животных и растений по всему миру ежегодно.

Нам стоит задуматься уже сегодня о том, что мы хотим оставить для своих детей и внуков. Возможно, заяц и песец также попадут в этот список через 20-50 лет только потому что, нам нравятся красивые одежды из меха этих животных.

Elephants are the biggest land animals. They are mammals. They are grey and have no hair. Their skin is thick and rough. They come from Africa and Asia. African elephants have very big ears and Asian elephants have small ears. They live in hot regions. The elephant has a very long nose, which is called a trunk and two long white teeth called tusks.

Elephants eat a lot of food they are herbivore, that means that they don’t eat meat. They eat leaves, grass, fruit and even trees. They eat around 140 kilos of food a day and drink 180 litres of water. A big elephant is over 3.5 metres tall and weighs 6000 kilos. Elephants love water and they are good swimmers. Nowadays they are in danger of becoming extinct because they are killed for their ivory tusks which are used to make ornaments or necklaces.


Pandas are mammals. They live in jungles of China. Pandas have got long black and white fur.

They are in danger of becoming extinct because people are destroying their habitat – the place where they live. Farmers want more and more land to grow different products, so they cut down lots of bamboo and change the bamboo forest into a field. Pandas are also killed for their fur to make rugs.

They are now in danger of becoming extinct because people are destroying their habitat and they are also killed for their horns to make medicine. But this medicine is not really important, it won’t save lives, it is more like cosmetics or beauty product!

It is now in danger of becoming extinct because it is killed for sport and sometimes even for food. And since people are destroying its habitat, it has less and less place to live.

Some people are afraid of tigers and kill them to save domestic animals, but some people have hunted tigers for fun and for their beautiful skin. they can easily sell and get a lot of money)

(They are wonderful animals, they can help people to work, in the 19th century Africa was full of elephants but these days there are not many of them except in African parks)

Panda lives in bamboo forests of central China.

Panda has a black and white coat, she large black patches around its eyes.

Panda is an endangered species. There are about 2000 pandas living in the wild.

Adult panda can weigh up to 150 kg.

Giant panda lives about 20 years in the wild.

Giant panda eats as much as 10 kg of bamboo a day.

Giant panda is a good climber.

The panda’s food is bamboo. Bamboo also serves as their shelter in the wild, as panda lives in the cold bamboo rain forests in China. People cut down bamboo trees because of farms, roads and industrial area. People must take special care of them, they must save pandas.

White Bears

Many animals and birds are disappearing nowadays. Many of them are in danger. White bears are among them.

White bears are very strong animals. They are one of the biggest wild animals in the world. They live in the North of our country on the banks of the Arctic Ocean. White bears eat fish and sea animals. They weigh 500 kilograms. Sometimes they catch and eat birds. There are about 23000 white bears left .

For many years people have hunted and killed many white bears. The result is very sad. There are few white bears in our country. “People must take special care of them, they must save white wears.
