Every person has hobby, favorite movie, sport and favorite style of music. I am crazy about Rock music.
This love came to me few years ago. Before I liked to listen to different styles: pop, classics, instrumental and so on. Once my friend invited me to a concert of one rock-group. I had no plans that evening and I went out with my friend.
So as you understand that evening has changed my life. I listened to melody and lyrics. The songs I was listening that evening impressed me a lot. Before I thought that Rock music is something about war, fight, conflict and stress. When I listened to lyrics properly, I realized that we often have conflict inside of our mind. We grow up and feel our parents don’t understand us. It’s sad and that’s why people start to write these songs.
Another thing is broken heart. Almost 50% if songs that I know are about love and betray. The sense of these songs is not easy to get, but only if you listen to it properly. I think in this style every person can find the right song that can tell you about problems that bother you.
My favorite Rock groups are Linking Park, Green Day, Pink Floyd, the Beatles, Three Day Grace. Also I am keen on russian Rock groups, for example, Splean, Bi-2. This music helps me to relax and forget about my problems.
Sometime I like to stay alone in my room and enjoy listening to music. Of course my parents don’t understand this style, but I don’t understand retro that they listen to.
Rock music is popular all around the world. Every country has famous groups and singers. And many of them have died already, but the world still remembers and sings the songs. That means that rock music has made a great impression to many of us. If you still have any doubts, just listen to “Moi Rock-n-Roll” or “Polkovnik”. These songs are old, but the sense is so deep.

Мы подрастаем и чувствуем, что наши родители нас не понимают. Это очень печально и поэтому, люди пишут такие песни.
Ещё одна тема песен - разбитое сердце. Почти 50% всех песен, что я знаю - о любви и предательстве. Смысл этих песен нелегко уловить, только, если вы вслушаетесь. Я думаю, что этот стиль поможет вам найти ту самую песню, которая расскажет именно о ваших проблемах.
Мои любимые группы - Linking Park, Green Day, Pink Floyd, Биттлз, Three days Grace. А ещё я обожаю русские рок-группы, например, Сплин и Би-2. Эта музыка помогает мне расслабиться и забыть о своих проблемах.
Иногда я люблю побыть в одиночестве в своей комнате и слушать любимые песни. Конечно же, мои родители не понимают этот стиль, а я не понимаю ретро, которое слушают они.

Rock music, sometimes also known as “rock and roll,” is a style of music that became popular in the 1950s in America and Europe. It is primarily based on older musical styles, such as the rhythm and blues music originated by African American performers such as Chuck Berry and Little Richard, with a heavy focus on guitar, drums, and powerful vocals.
One of the earliest and most famous performers in the early days of rock was Elvis Presley, who shocked the world with his suggestive dancing and powerful music. He became an instant phenomenon, and led the way for many other performers over the decades to come.
Another hugely successful and popular rock music group was the Beatles. The Beatles were a legendary English rock band, which was established in 1959 in Liverpool. The group consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. This was not the original composition of the group but those whom the entire world knows as the Beatles!
Rock music as any other music help people to relax and have rest and feel themself a harmonious individual. It is better to listen to rock music when alone, for no one hinders you to hear the beauty of its sound. People believe that music a person listens to may say much about a person, his character, up-bringing and outlook. Many young people can’t live without listening to rock music, because it makes their life brighter and more interesting.

The musical instrument most linked to Rock and Roll is the guitar. Jimi Hendrix was the most influential guitar player during the late 1960s. Rock and Roll came from rhythm & blues, country, and in turn its influence fed back to these cultures, a process of borrowings, influences that continues to develop rock music. Rock 'n' Roll had runaway success in the U.S. and brought rhythm and blues-influenced music to an international audience. Its success led to a dilution of the meaning of the term "rock and roll", as promoters were quick to attach the label to other commercial pop.
Rock 'n' Roll started off in the early-to-mid 1950s in the United States. African-American artists such as Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, and Fats Domino played predominantly to African American crowds. While these key early rockers were indisposed to racism, local authorities and dance halls were very much divided upon racial lines.
Mainstream acceptance of rock and roll came in the mid-1950s when what Bo Diddley describes as 'ofay dudes' (or Caucasians) signed to major labels and started covering their material. Elvis Presley and Bill Haley and the Comets, Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash often toured and played together in dance halls and clubs across the US and Britain.
Towards the end of the 1950s "chessboard" crowds (both black and white patrons) would emerge at Rock and Roll concerts as fans discovered the original artists of the songs they knew from television and the radio, such as Little Richard's Tutti Frutti. The genre ignited British enthusiasm for rhythm and blues and the development of British rock.

Другие новые течения — арт-рок и близкий к нему прогрессив-рок (прог-рок). Помимо приемов бита и психоделик-рока, эти жанры пользуются элементами классической музыки, джаза и фолка. Совсем короткие строчки, почти отсутствующие рифмы и огромное количество агрессивной энергии — так и по сей день выглядит эталон панк-песни.
К 1980-м панк, диско и осколки рок-музыки порождают нью-вейв, постпанк и альтернативный рок.
Постпанк — это, наоборот, что-то вроде авангардного панка с очень холодными мелодиями и человеконенавистническими текстами. К постпанк-группам можно отнести Joy Division, Bauhaus, The Cure, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, The Fall. Есть еще альтернативный рок, который не влез в существующие категории. Хотя группы, исполняющие ранний альтернативный рок, в целом не пришли к коммерческому успеху (пожалуй, кроме The Cure и The Smiths), постепенно альтернативный рок, пройдя череду превращений, к 1990-м его достигает. Рок родился с одной гитарой наперевес: английские подростки могли купить дешевую акустическую (и найти на свалке стиральную доску), и этого было достаточно, чтобы показать родителям, что они не такие, что они хотят строить будущее, выражать какие-то идеи. Но чтобы строить будущее, им нужно было прошлое, и этим прошлым стала афроамериканская музыка: нью-орлеанский джаз, американский фолк, блюз и так далее. Британская культура была в послевоенном кризисе, и зарождение рока стало толчком к выходу из него.
К концу века в кризисе оказался уже сам рок — впрочем, не первый раз в своей истории. А выход опять нашли в прошлом: так называемый инди-рок начала 2000-х вновь попытался оставить в рок-группах одну-две гитары, простые барабаны и вернуться к корням начала 1960-х. Но это уже совсем другая история.
