Цели: совершенствование навыков выразительного рассказывания стихотворений; тренировка монологической речи; стимулирование интереса к изучению иностранного языка.

Оборудование: рисунки детей (портреты мам, сестёр, бабушек); сочинения- рассказы детей о своих мамах; открытки, цветы, шары, песни.

Ход мероприятия

Праздник сопровождается музыкальными номерами, сценками, стихами. Ведущий праздника - учителя английского языка. Праздник проводится полностью на английском языке.

Учитель приветствует детей, их родителей и других гостей, и сообщает детям, что проводимое мероприятие посвящается празднику “ День Матери”. Ученики оформляют классную комнату или зал шарами, цветами, рисунками (портретами своих мам, сестёр и бабушек, устраивают выставку сочинений- рассказов о мамах. Учащиеся по очереди рассказывают стихи и исполняют песни, выученные заранее. Длинные стихотворения разучивают и рассказывают несколько учеников по 4 строчки каждый. После исполнения художественных номеров учитель организует исполнение песен для мам.

Teacher : Today we are going to celebrate your Day, Mother’s Day.

Leader 1: Good afternoon, dear guests!

L. 1: Hello, children!

L. 2: We are glad to see you at our party! It is devoted to Mother’s Day.

L. 1: Mother’s Day in Russia is quite a new holiday.

L. 2: It has been celebrated since November 1998. People in Russia honored their moms on the last Sunday in November.

L. 1: Different countries celebrate Mother’s Day on various days of the year. Today Mother’s Day is celebrated in more than 50 countries at different times in the month of May, in some countries it is celebrated in March, August or in October.

L. 1: In the UK, Mother’s Day celebrations started by the name of Mothering Sunday, several years before the tradition found its roots in the UK. Mothering Sunday came to be celebrated following the practice in the UK of 17th century wherein children of poor families were send to work as apprentice and domestic servants with the rich. These children were allowed to visit their ’Mother Church’ or the Cathedral of their home town annually in the middle of the fasting month of Lent. Children met their mothers after visiting the church and presented them with flowers and special ’Mothering Cakes’. The custom received a set back with the advent of Industrial Revolution when the lifestyles changes. American soldiers contributed in the revival of the tradition after the World War II.

L. 2: The date of Mothering Sunday in the UK varies every year. It does not correspond to the Mother’s Day festival in US which falls on the second Sunday in the month of May. Mothering Sunday in England is always celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent (the 40 day period leading up to Easter) in honor of Mary, the mother of Christ. The more commonly prepared dish of Mothering Sunday is Simnel Cake.

На сцене, которая оформлена под квартиру, делает уборку девочка в фартуке. Она подмела пол, помыла посуду, вытерла пыль…Затем, тяжело вздыхая от усталости, садится на стул. Все это время ее брат сидел и ничего не делал, а только играл на компьютере. Вдруг звонок в дверь.

Это пришла мама с работы. Девочка бежит открывать дверь:

Фатима- Mummy, I’m glad to see you! How are you? Are you tired?

Анжела- Hello, my dear! Yes, I’m tired.

Ф- Give me your bag, mummy. Take off your coat. Here are your slippers.

А- Thank you, dear! (удивленно) What a clean flat we’ve got today!

Ф- Sit here. I’ll bring you tea with honey.

А- Thank you, my daughter! (ещё более удивленно)

Мама выпила чай и спрашивает:

А- And is your brother doing?

Ф- He’s playing computer games.

Мама обращается к сыну:

А- You’re doing nothing again! Look at your sister! She has cleaned all the flat! And you!

Мальчик, показывая дневник своей сестры, в котором красуется жирная двойка:

И-But it’s not me who has got a two today!

Мама открывает рот от удивления, а девочка, схватив голову двумя руками, побегает вон из комнаты.

Сценка окончена. Дети кланяются, а затем мама говорит:

А-Children, I hope that you help your mother not only when you’ve got a two at school!

Ведущий 1: Как мы уже говорили, одним из подарков ко Дню матери традиционно считается помощь по дому. Давайте послушаем о том, как нужно помогать маме в домашнем хозяйстве.

L. 1: People in the family try to make Mother’s Day a day off for mother. They help her any way they can : wash up, clean the rooms and cook different tasty things.

L. 1: There are a lot of poems about mothers and for mothers. We have founded the oldest poem which was originally written by Howard Johnson an American song lyricist as a song back in 1915.

So, we can see the result of their actions. And if we have a result what grammar tense we have to use to talk about their actions? (отвечают какое грамматическое время необходимо использовать - Present Perfect Tense)

Ведущий: Празднование Дня матери имеет многовековую историю. В России этот день празднуется в последнее воскресенье ноября. День матери в нашей стране появился относительно недавно. Праздник был основан Президентом РФ 30 января 1998 года.

Ведущий: Среди множества праздников в нашей стране День матери находится на особом месте. Это такой день, к которому никто не может остаться равнодушным. В день матери хочется произнести слова признательности всем Матерям, которые дают детям добро, нежность, любовь и ласку.

Ведущий: День матери в Великобритании празднуется в четвертое воскресение Великого поста, ровно за три недели до пасхи. История его уходит в викторианские времена, когда дети в довольно раннем возрасте работали вдали от дома. Тогда один день в году им разрешалось провести со своей семьей и обычно они приносили своим матерям небольшие подарки. Сегодня британские дети в этот день дарят своим мамам цветы и выполняют за них работу по дому.

Ведущий: Историки по сей день спорят о времени появления праздника чествования матерей. По одной версии, начало этой традиции положили праздники весны, на которых античные греки восхваляли мать богов по имени Рея, жену бога Кроноса. Другая версия гласит, что традиция празднования появилась в начале 16 века в Англии.

Ведущий: Разные государства установили для празднования этого замечательного праздника различные официальные даты. Во многих государствах День матери, по традиции, отмечается во второе воскресенье мая. И это неслучайно. Ведь именно май ассоциируется с периодом пробуждения природы, в это время всё кругом цветет и благоухает, готовится к плодородию. Это самое благодатное время для такого замечательного праздника.

Ведущий: Обычно в этот день все члены семьи просыпаются очень рано, но стараются не разбудить своими хлопотами виновницу торжества – маму.

Ведущий: И пока мама спит, или просто делает вид, что спит, домашние готовят для нее разные вкусности из числа тех блюд, которые она очень любит. Дети принимают в этих приготовлениях самое активное участие

Ведущий: После пробуждения мамы ей прямо в постель преподносят завтрак. И в этот день мама заслуженно чувствует себя практически настоящей королевой.

Ведущий: Близкие и родные всячески её ублажают и развлекают, и ей позволительно даже немного капризничать.

Ведущий: Дети приносят своим мамам в этот день букетики цветов, дарят милые безделушки и подарки, сделанные заранее своими руками.

Ведущий: Выпекается симнель из специальной муки тонкого помола simila. От этого названия торт и получил свое название. В День матери в Великобритании этот торт можно испечь самим или купить.

Ведущий: Так давайте же чаще говорить своим мамам о любви, помогать им в их нелегком каждодневном труде и не забывать, что это единственный человек, который любит не за хорошие оценки и поступки, не за красоту и талант, а просто потому что она – МАМА.

Listen to the story about the presents for mothers:
Different countries have different traditions in celebrating Mother’s Day. But it is common in all countries to visit mothers and give them presents. In the USA people give a carnation to their mothers. In Australia children make delicious breakfast dishes for their mothers. In Germany it is a tradition to give flowers, greeting cards or some handmade presents. In Finland you can see flags in every house and fathers usually cook tasty things. In our country we congratulate not only our mothers, but our grandmothers as well. We also have concerts on this holiday.
