Mr. Haley ( a trader ) : Open your mouth !

Albert : Yes , sir .

Mr. Haley : How old are you ?

Albert : I am 14 , sir .

Mr. Haley : You look ill .

Albert : Oh , no , sir ! I am not ill . I am hungry .

Mr. Haley : I am not going to give you much food .

Albert : Yes , sir .

Mr. Haley : Well . Show me your arms ! All right . Jump a little . Now take my

bag and carry it . Stop ! You are strong . I see that . I think I’ll buy you .

Aunt Hagar : He is my son . Buy us together , please . I can work from early

morning till late at night . I am strong enough ( She tries to carry

the bag but can’t )

Mr. Haley : You are too old to work much .

Minister : Oh , the Prince has gone mad . He has forgotten his name !

Tom : What are you saying ?

Minister : You are my Prince .

Tom : I am Tom Canty , I tell you . The Prince has gone to Offal Court .

Minister : I shall call the doctor ! You are not well !

Prince ( running into the room ) : Tom ! Give me back my clothes .

Say you've spent the first 10 years of your life sleeping under the stairs of a family who loathes you. Not only that, but you discover that you are a wizard yourself! This is exactly what happens to young Harry Potter in J.K. Rowling's enchanting, funny debut novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. In the nonmagic human world-the world of 'Muggles'-Harry is a nobody, treated like dirt by the aunt and uncle who begrudgingly inherited him when his parents were killed by the evil Voldemort. But in the world of wizards, small, skinny Harry is famous as a survivor of the wizard who tried to kill him. He is left only with a lightning-bolt scar on his forehead, curiously refined sensibilities, and a host of mysterious powers to remind him that he's quite, yes, altogether different from his aunt, uncle, and spoiled, piglike cousin Dudley. A mysterious letter, delivered by the friendly giant Hagrid, wrenches Harry from his dreary, Muggle-ridden existence: 'We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.' Of course, Uncle Vernon yells most unpleasantly, 'I Am Not Paying for Some Crackpot Old Fool to Teach Him Magic Tricks!' Soon enough, however, Harry finds himself at Hogwarts with his owl Hedwig. and that's where the real adventure-humorous, haunting, and suspenseful-begins.

Harry Potter is a wizard. He is in his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Little does he know that this year will be just as eventful as the last. even getting there is an adventure in itself! The three firm friends, Harry, Ron and Hermione, are soon immersed in the daily round of Potions, Herbology, Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, and Quidditch. But then horrible and mysterious things start happening. Harry keeps hearing strange voices, sinister and dark messages appear, and then Ron's sister Ginny disappears.

For twelve long years, the dread fortress of Azkaban held an infamous prisoner named Sirius Black. Convicted of killing thirteen people with a single curse, he was said to be the heir apparent to the Dark Lord, Voldemort.
Now he has escaped, leaving only two clues as to where he might be headed: Harry Potter's defeat of You-Know-Who was Black's downfall as well. And the Azkban guards heard Black muttering in his sleep, "He's at Hogwarts. he's at Hogwarts."
Harry Potter isn't safe, not even within the walls of his magical school, surrounded by his friends. Because on top of it all, there may well be a traitor in their midst.

The Triwizard Tournament is to be held at Hogwarts. Only wizards who are over seventeen are allowed to enter - but that doesn't stop Harry dreaming that he will win the competition. Then at Hallowe'en, when the Goblet of Fire makes its selection, Harry is amazed to find his name is one of those that the magical cup picks out. He will face death-defying tasks, dragons and Dark wizards, but with the help of his best friends, Ron and Hermione, he might just make it through - alive!

Dark times have come to Hogwarts. After the Dementors' attack on his cousin Dudley, Harry Potter knows that Voldemort will stop at nothing to find him. There are many who deny the Dark Lord's return, but Harry is not alone: a secret order gathers at Grimmauld Place to fight against the Dark forces. Harry must allow Professor Snape to teach him how to protect himself from Voldemort's savage assaults on his mind. But they are growing stronger by the day and Harry is running out of time .

When Dumbledore arrives at Privet Drive one summer night to collect Harry Potter, his wand hand is blackened and shrivelled, but he does not reveal why. Secrets and suspicion are spreading through the wizarding world, and Hogwarts itself is not safe. Harry is convinced that Malfoy bears the Dark Mark: there is a Death Eater amongst them. Harry will need powerful magic and true friends as he explores Voldemort's darkest secrets, and Dumbledore prepares him to face his destiny.

As he climbs into the sidecar of Hagrid's motorbike and takes to the skies, leaving Privet Drive for the last time, Harry Potter knows that Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters are not far behind. The protective charm that has kept Harry safe until now is now broken, but he cannot keep hiding. The Dark Lord is breathing fear into everything Harry loves, and to stop him Harry will have to find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes. The final battle must begin - Harry must stand and face his enemy.
