Тема урока : Health and Body Care.

Цель урока : систематизировать и обобщить знания учащихся по теме "Health and Body Care".

Задачи урока:

Образовательные:

введение лексического материала по теме "Health",

обобщение грамматического материала (модальный глагол "should"),

развитие навыков говорения, аудирования, чтения и письма по теме.

развитие коммуникативных навыков по теме "Health and Body Care",

развитие творческих способностей учащихся,

развитие памяти, внимания и мышления,

развитие умения обобщать и делать выводы.

Воспитательные:

воспитание здоровых привычек и культуры здорового образа жизни,

воспитание умения работать в сотрудничестве.

Форма урока : урок-соревнование.

Оборудование : компьютер, раздаточный материал (карточки с кроссвордом, поговорками, правила).

НАЧАЛО УРОКА

Организационный момент.

T: Good morning, pupils. Please, sit down. Who is on duty today?

P: I am on duty today. My name is…. My surname is…. Today is the ( дата ). The weather is…. ( Кто ) is/are absent.

T: Today our lesson is devoted to a very important problem. As you know some people are healthy, some people are unhealthy. Health is the most precious things in people's life. We can't buy health, but we can do a lot to keep it. In order to be healthy we should follow some special rules. The series of pictures on the screen will help you to guess what we are going to speak about.

Now look at all these pictures at once. What do they represent? Can you guess what we are going to speak about?

P. A Healthy Way of Life ( Слайд 2)

T. Right you are. So today we are going to speak about our health, about what we should do to be healthy and about doctors, because they help us to be healthy.

T. Look at the screen, please. I will read these words and then you will repeat them altogether.

T. ( Слайд 3) I offer you to have a lesson in a form of a competition. So you should divide into two teams. You will take a card with one of the numbers: number one or number two.

T. You are the first team and you are the second team. Give your teams a name connected with the theme of our lesson.

T. Our competition will consist of different contests. For each contest your team will get some points. The team that gets more points at the end of the competition wins. Are the rules clear to you? I wish you success and good luck.

T. The next task of our competition is called "Jumbled Proverbs". Each team will get the words for two proverbs about health. And you must put the words in a logical order. Which team will be the first? ( Слайд 5)

T . Take the number of the proverb that you are going to make up.

T. So this is for you.

T . And the same procedure again. Take the sheet of paper with the number on it.

T. And this card is for you.

T. Now I will give each team a leafsheet with a list of recommendations which we should follow or shouldn't follow to be healthy. Your task is to make Health Code . The first team will discuss and tell us what we should do to be healthy and the second team will tell us what we shouldn't do. I will give you two marker pens so you can tick the right points in your leafsheets.

Get up early and go to bed early

Doctor's routine

T. To have a rest is also one of the rules of keeping fit.

T . But some people who don't care much about their health and don't follow some useful advice can fall ill. Who can help people if they are ill?

T. What is doctor's daily routine?

This picture will help you. ( Слайд 11)

- What does he study?

- Whom does he treat?

- What does he prescribe?

- What does he write?

- Where does he work?

A magic flower

T. So you see that nowadays ordinary people as well as celebrities want to be strong and healthy. And what about you? What do you do to keep fit? This magic flower will help you to answer my question. ( Слайд 12) I will give each of you a coloured petal and you will fill it in, writing what you do to keep fit. And then you'll come up to the blackboard and fix your petal round the centre.

T . Are you ready?

T. I'm glad to hear that you take care of your health and do a lot to keep fit.

T. And the last contest of our competition is the crossword. The first team will try to guess all the words across. And the second team will fill in all the words down. ( Слайд 13)

Home Assignment

T. And your home assignment is to write a prescription. Imagine that you are a doctor and you have a patient who doesn't care much about his health, who often falls ill. What will you advise him? Ex. 19 on p. 199 will help you. ( Слайд 16)

Teacher : Every day we eat different kinds of food. Do you remember their names in English? (учащиеся по картинкам называют продукты питания).

2) Healthy and un healthy food.

Teacher : Some foods are healthy, others aren’t. Can you classify healthy and un healthy foods? (учащиеся по очереди выходят к доске и помещают картинки с изображением продуктов питания в соответствующую группу).

Pupil 1: Fruit juice is healthy.

Pupil 2: Sweets are unhealthy. (И т. д.)

Teacher : Some sports we can play. We can go some other sports. And some sports we can do. What are these sports? (учащиеся работают в парах – заполнение таблицы; проверка осуществляется с помощью слайдов).

Pupils : We can play football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis and hockey. (И т. д.)

3) What sports do they go in for? (слайд 21)

Teacher : What sports do these people go in for? (учащиеся составляют предложения по картинкам с опорой на образец).

Pupil 1: She plays football.

Pupil 2: He goes cycling. (И т. д.)

4) Favourite sports (слайды 22-23)

Teacher : Some sports we like, others don’t. What are these people’s favourite sports? (аудирование – учащиеся слушают высказывания различных людей о любимых видах спорта и заполняют таблицу; проверка осуществляется с помощью слайдов).

Pupil 1: Adrienne’s favourite sports are swimming and football. (И т. д.)

Teacher : And what is your favourite sport?

Pupil 1: My favourite sport is skating.

Teacher : How often do you go skating?

Pupil 1: I go skating 3 times a week. (И т. д.)

1) Health problems (слайд 24)

Teacher : If we don’t play sports and eat unhealthy food we can have health problems. What are they? (словообразование – учащиеся образуют названия заболеваний с помощью суффикса –ache).

2) Game “Doctors” (слайды 25-26)

Teacher : When we have health problems we usually go to the doctor. Let’s play doctors now. Давайте попробуем представить себя в роли врачей и дать советы больным людям на экране. (микро-монологи с опорой на ключевые слова).

Pupil 1: He has a stomachache. He feels bad. He should eat more fruit. (И т. д.)

Teacher : Our health is in our hands. Наше здоровье – в наших руках! А что здоровье для каждого из вас? Пожалуйста, запишите свои ответы на ладошках. (учащиеся пишут на ладошках свои ответы и озвучивают).

Учащиеся: We are fine, thank you. And how are you?

Учитель: I’m OK too. Who is on duty today? Who is absent today? What date is it today? What day of the week is it today? What season is it now?

- Today we shall have a lesson according to our topic “Food and health” and we shall speak about tasty, healthy and useless food.

-- We are going to talk about our food and drinks.

-- So you need to learn some new words on this topic.

-- After that we are going to play different games.

- And now let’s start our work.

- Let’s train our tongues and practice the English sounds. Look at the screen carefully and read the words with sounds.

Вкуснотища – Very good! Пищу называют – food.

Это вовсе не каприз, сыр мы называем – cheese.

Мясо жарится, шкварчит, мясо по-английски – meat.

Арбуз предпочитаю сливам, арбуз иначе – water-melon.

Узнали все впервые, что груша – это pear.

Масло нужно всем ребятам. Масло по-английски – butter.

Без соли борщ не лезет в рот. Соль по-английски – просто salt.

Ведро воды не принесете? Вода, водичка будет – water.

Слива тут и слива – там. Слива по-английски – plum.

Виноград мы съели весь. Виноград – иначе grapes.

- Now, look at the screen. There are a lot of pictures on the screen. These words are well – known for you.
