Описание картинки можно схематично представить, как ответы на вопросы:

Где и когда? (where and when the photo was taken)
Кто/что? (what\who is in the photo)
Какой?
Что делает и как? (what is happening)
Ваше отношение к фото

Данные компоненты можно менять местами в зависимости от вашего желания и конкретной картинки. Давайте разберем каждый компонент в отдельности.

Где и когда?

В начале описания неплохо бы рассказать об истории картинки / фото, если вы ее знаете. Когда фотография была сделана? При каких обстоятельствах.

Ответ можно начать следующим образом:

You know, I am fond of photography and I keep my best photos in my album. Please, have a look at this one. I took this photo last year in Greece. — Вы знаете, я увлекаюсь фотографией и храню свои лучшие фото в альбоме. Пожалуйста, взгляните на этот снимок. Я сделал его в прошлом году в Греции.

Вариант 1

In this picture I see a young woman lying on the grass, smiling and listening to music with headphones.

She seems to be in her early twenties. She’s got long blond hair and a charming smile. She’s wearing a white T-shirt. She could be listening to some energetic rock music, because she looks happy and engaged. Maybe she is listening to the best album of her favourite singer and is singing along. By the way, it can be even not music at all. She could be listening to a humorous audiobook that makes her smile. She may be listening to an audiocourse, learning a foreign language and trying to repeat the phrase after the speaker.

I can see an engagement ring on her finger. Perhaps she has just got engaged and is trying to choose the song for the first dance with her fiancé during the wedding ceremony. I know how hard it can be because I’m getting married in August and I’ve been listening to various songs, trying to choose those to be played on my wedding day. I fall asleep with my headphones on and spend my working hours in a similar pair of headphones, not to irritate my fellow-workers with my music.

This picture shows a seaside resort in summer. The weather is hot that’s why the beach is full of people. There are no clouds in the sky and it looks light blue. Аs for the sea, it is a bit rough, I can see the waves, so the light wind is probably blowing.

In the foreground just a bit to the right there is a big merry-go-round. I can guess that a lot of children are riding horses there. They may be laughing, shouting, in other words, they are having fun.

Another kind of attraction is situated to the left of the first one. It looks smaller and at first sight you can suppose that it is a merry-go-round, too. But if you look closer, you can see that it might be a kiosk with some food or souvenirs because people are standing around probably looking for something to buy.

The beach is very crowded. The people are lying on the sand and swimming in the sea. In the background I can make out the outline of a white pier which stands out against the blue sky.

As for me, I enjoyed a lot describing this cheerful picture. This sunny beach makes me feel optimistic because in a few weeks I hope I will be enjoying swimming in the sea, too.

His parents on the right side are looking into each other’s eyes and smiling.

The girl is opening her gift box and seems to be very excited to see what is inside.

On the left, there is a man, probably a husband of the older woman. He is waiting for his turn to give his present.

All people are wearing light-colored clothes on top. The men are standing, the rest are sitting on a cozy sofa in a spacious, light room.

Everybody seems to be happy and enjoy the family moment.

Описание картинки для ЕГЭ по сути мало чем отличается от шаблона выше. Единственное, дополнительно могут стоять вопросы про личное отношение к фото, почему вы его выбрали и т.п.

Вот несколько вариантов описания фото для ЕГЭ по английскому языку.

Вариант 1

Well, I have chosen photo number 1. Look at this. I took it last year when I have a big holiday with my friends in Phuket. In the picture you can see a very popular beach Nai Harn. There is clear blue water, green mountains and yellow sand. There we walked with my friends Anna and Viktor and enjoyed such a sunny and hot day. I decided to take this photo because it is a really wonderful place for me. I wanted to keep this time in my memory. I would like to show you this picture because I know that you like sea and beautiful beaches. Maybe it will inspire you to go to Phuket. That’s all I wanted to say.

You know that I am a regular traveler. From time to time, I visit exotic countries where I usually go windsurfing, diving, and the like.

Well, this photo I took last year when I was on my holidays in Vietnam. That was a wonderful trip full of extreme actions and unforgettable experience. During my trip I was taking lots of pictures, but this one is my favorite.

You can see wonderful yellow fish in the foreground of this photo. In the background you can see rocks of various size and shape.

Actually, nothing much is happening in the photo. Some fish are swimming by in the depth of the see. Besides, the sun is trying to shine through but only some specks of light can be seen.

Why do I keep this photo in my album? Well, I have a lot of pictures from underwater but this one is special. The fish look very unusual and admirable, and I keep this photo as a striking demonstration of diversity and uniqueness of sea life.

I decided to show the picture to you because I’d like to share my impressions from diving with you. I want you to see how beautiful the bottom of the sea may be and what unusual things you are faced there with.

Well, I hope you understand my feelings and how much I’m into traveling and diving. By the way, next year I am going to visit Vietnam one more time. Don’t you want to join me? If yes, then we will discuss everything next time. Now we have to go to school.

In this picture my father is sitting on his knee while I am standing. We are holding the fish we caught several minutes before. The sun is shining so brightly that my father is wearing sunglasses.

I decided to keep this photo so that I could remember that amazing weekend and that great experience. I can open it and remember every detail of it any time I want.

So as you are choosing what to do on the forthcoming weekend, I decided to show you this picture. Maybe you will be inspired to do something like that. That is all I wanted to say.

Elderly people who live alone can be monitored by new technology that analyses household sounds to ensure their safety. The new sound monitoring system, developed by Fujitsu, the Japanese electronics company, examines noises in homes via a microphone connected to a data centre. The technology is refined enough to differentiate between the sound of a falling object or a collapsing human and can instantly alert family members or security firms if any abnormality is detected. Задачи также представляют собой модифицированные задания ЕГЭ.

Типичные ошибки (независимо от жанра):

Непонимание формата высказывания, жанра.
Замена жанра.
Неполное или неточное раскрытие темы.
Нарушение логики (отсутствие или неправильное использование средств логической связи, резкие переходы, отсутствие вступления и заключения).
Лексико-грамматические, орфографические, пунктуационные ошибки.

Рассмотрим подробнее наиболее распространенные творческие задания в жанрах рассказа и отчета.

Рассказ

Рассказ — это малая литературная форма, имеющая сюжет (фабулу). Текст в этом жанре должен соответствовать следующим требованиям:

Оригинальный динамичный сюжет.
Естественный тон повествования.
Использование таких приемов как описание, повествование, рассуждение.
Наличие индивидуально-авторской оценки событий и факторов, выражение чувств и эмоций автора и его героев.
Наличие элементов диалогической речи.
Четкая композиция (зачин, основная часть с кульминацией, развязка).
Наличие заголовка.
Разнообразие языковых средств.

Рекомендации для учеников по написанию рассказа:

Прежде чем приступить к написанию рассказа, продумайте сюжетную линию, характеристику героев, составьте план и набросайте ключевые слова к пунктам плана.
Учтите, что динамика событий в рассказе очень важна, ее можно подчеркнуть, используя слова at first, before, until, while, during, after, finally, when, etc., а также глаголы happen, realize, start, run, appear, disappear, occur, exclaim, sigh, mutter, say, wonder, etc.
Используйте прилагательные и наречия, чтобы описать чувства и действия героев. При этом вместо приевшихся слов: big, small, good, bad, very употребляйте их синонимы и эквиваленты: enormous, tiny, terrific, horrible, extremely, etc.
Будьте внимательны с использованием грамматических времен. Например, Past Continuous подходит для описания погоды в момент действия, Past Simple — для основных действий, Past Perfect — для событий, предшествующих истории.

Write a short story. Choose any subject but use in your story the following words at least once ( underline the word from the list when using it for the first time): Fluffy, Ignorant, Board, Cord, Traffic.

Title your story using a word from the list. Include description of feelings and emotions. Include direct and indirect speech. Make an unexpected ending. Write 200-250 words. Time: 1 hour 15 minutes.

A fluffy tail

I left the office building, found my car in the car park and headed off to my home place. The way home usually takes an hour. It’s a boring trip, because while covering the distance I have to stay in an enormous traffic jam. Not to feel bored I switched on the radio and started waiting for the cars in front of me to move. Suddenly I saw something strange in front of my car. It looked like a roll of a newspaper. Then I understood that it was something fluffy and alive. I left the car and took the fluffy ball in my hands. It turned out to be a small cat with a fluffy tail. It looked miserable and was shivering with cold.

I decided to take it home just to feed it, because my wife would never let it live with us. A year ago our cat left home and didn’t come back. After this incident Monica couldn’t see any other cats. Well, this time she was about throwing the poor kitten away, when she suddenly found a necklace on the cat with the cat’s owner’s address. The address was ours! It was our cat that we had lost. How happy we were!

Remember to: make an introduction, summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features (2 or more), make comparisons where relevant (2 or more), give recommendations (2 or more), make a conclusion, USE YOUR OWN WORDS AND EXPRESSIONS in your report. Write 300-350 words.

Отчет, получивший наибольшее количество баллов:

The aim of this report is to recommend what should be done in order to make students interested and successful in some school subjects. The chart was used to analyze the information. The biggest number of both boys and girls has passed state exams in computer science, mathematics and foreign languages. The percentage of them is higher than 40. The choice of chemistry, physics and geography appears to be a little bit lower — its data fluctuates from 30 to 40 percent. History is the least popular subject students have passed state exam in.

Computer science exam was the most popular one among girls. It is because of the fact that the IT development greatly affected the demand for programmers. However, in 2015-2016 academic year most boys passed mathematics exam, following the trend of being more interested in mathematical sciences than practical areas. Speaking about less popular subjects, it should be stressed that only 14 percent of girls succeeded in passing state exam in chemistry, whereas 20 percent of boys managed to pass geography exam.

Judging by our research, me can give the following recommendations. On the one hand, to raise students’ interest in unpopular subjects such as chemistry, history and geography teachers should use modern technology such as computers and eboards during the lesson. On the other hand, group work and school projects may make them more interested in the subject. In conclusion, we can make a point that both interests and success of students do not depend on what kind of science a particular subject refers to. Imagine that you are a teacher of English at school and you have given your students the writing assignment: Comment on the following statement. When you are studying away from home, the best choice for you is to live with your acquaintances. What is your opinion? Do you agree with this statement? Write 200-250 words. Student’s Essay When you are studying away from home, the best choice for you is to live with your acquaintances.

I disagree to this statement. If you are thinking of going away to study, your choice of accommodation will be very important. You may be lucky enough to have the chance of staying with somebody your parents know, for example, your distant relatives or your parents’ friends. However, this can bring problems as well as advantages. Family life may well distract you of your studies, and there will also be the question of what you should pay to your hosts. No matter how carring they may be and no matter how much they want you with them, they won’t expect to keep you for nothing. Paying too much or too little can easily lead to feeling awkward but setting the right amount can be tricky and embarrassed. You will also have to adjust with your hosts’way of life and put up with their habits. They will also have to do their best to make you feel at home. In other words, it is wrong to believe that if you are living with somebody you know it will be costing nothing either for you or for them. Living in a dormitory can often be the best arrangement after all.

Social network technology is making young people more antisocial.

People have been socializing since time immemorial. We still want to have active social life. It explains the increasing popularity of social network sites in recent years. How do these sites influence life of young people?

In my opinion, social networking sites have negative effect on social life of young people. First of all, teenagers often forget that online popularity and real life popularity are not the same.

Consequently, they have hundreds online friends and serious communication problems in real life. Secondly, the sites offer many time wasting activities, so young people spent hours on these sites. As a result they do not have time to do more productive activities, like doing sports or hobby. Finally, this lifestyle is very bad for physical and mental health, so teenagers have different problems, such as poor eyesight or inability to have real conversation.

On the other hand, some people claim that social network sites influence lives of young people in a positive way, because the sites allow contact with people from all over the world. Besides, they bring people with common interests together.

I strongly disagree with this view, because communicating with people you do not know are very unlikely to meet, even if you have common interests, is superficial and cannot replace face-to-face.

Despite other people’s opinion I still believe that social networking sites do not improve young people’s lives, but only complicate them. (238 слов)

Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of trevelling and studying abroad.

Over recent years, the number of people studying and travelling abroad has increased considerably. This has both positive and negative aspects.

At first sight, education and travel in foreign countries appear to be entirely beneficial and advantageous. For example, studying other languages abroad expands and improves our abilities and job prospects. In addition, by studying or simply travelling abroad, we can discover many differences in terms of culture, way of thinking, history customs and lifestyle; the awareness of these differences makes us more tolerant and open-minded. What is more, we gain a broader experience of life in general.

On the other hand, it may indeed be true to say that travelling and studying abroad could influence us in a negative way. The experience could be so powerful, and alter our way of thinking so greatly, that we lose our cultural identity. If we integrate into the new society, we will almost certainly meet difficulties when we try to readjust later to our own culture. Another potential problem is that we may become a victim of discrimination, and lose our confidence as a result. Since their behavior and customs may be very different from those of the inhabitants of the host culture, we may encounter negative reaction – unfriendliness, or even hostility, for example.

There are many choices and it is for those who travel to weigh up both sides of the issue and come to their own conclusion. (260 слов)
