Education is an important part of the life. People go to schools and universities, attend different courses and workshops. Many people think that the most eventful and interesting period of life is studying at school and at university.
Образование является важной частью жизни. Люди ходят в школы и университеты, посещают разные курсы и семинары. Многие люди думают, что самый насыщенный и интересный период жизни – учеба в школе и в университете.
I agree that studying at university is full of events. At university I have found many friends and learnt new things. My university is located in a small city in Russia. Though my city is small, my university is very popular. Many scientists and professors work here. My university has a long history. Next year will mark the centenary from the date of foundation.

The life of my university is full of different events. As I have already mentioned, many scientists work here. Different conferences, seminars and meetings are held every year. Every student can take part in them. Besides, my university cooperates with the universities of Germany, England and China. So every year professors from these universities visit my university, meet students and share experience.

I want to tell you about medical education in Russia. There are many medical establishments of higher education nowadays in our country. This theme is very important, because now I am a first-year medical student. And I think we should know what awaits us in our future life.
In Russia young people who want to study medicine apply to a medical academy or medical departments of the universities. After successful passing entrance examinations young people become students. Exams include subjects such as Biology, Chemistry and Russian Language. Curricula of a medical institute include a six-year course in medical and pediatric faculties or a five-year course in stomatology and pharmacology.
The medical course is divided into the pre-clinical course, the clinical course, subinternship and internship.
The pre-clinical course lasts two years. Each academic year is divided into two terms. During their pre-clinical course students attend lectures, seminars and conferences on the basic medical sciences such as anatomy, histology, physiology and biochemistry. They also have practical classes in these subjects. In addition, their curriculum includes, for example, biology, chemistry, physics and foreign languages: Latin and English, French or German. All these subjects are compulsory for all students.
The clinical course takes three years. The students are trained in clinical subjects such as medicine, surgery, pathology, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, neurology, pediatrics and so on. In addition they also attend courses in diagnostics, therapy and prophylactics. Apart from their theoretical education they have the opportunity to take case histories and to perform physical examinations. They assist doctors on the wards, in the operating theatre and in out-patient departments.
The 6th year of medical studies the so-called subinternship is spent at a hospital. The students get more experience of the main clinical subjects — internal diseases, surgery and obstetrics and gynecology. They take a speciality in which they are interested. On successful completion of the subinternship the students before they begin to work at the place of their appointment spend a year (the 7th year of studies) as interns at a large hospital, specially suited for practical studies. Their salaries and their service record begin from the time of their appointment.

Я бы хотела рассказать вам о медицинском образовании в России. Существует много высших медицинских учебных заведений на сегодняшний день в нашей стране. Эта тема очень важна, потому что сейчас я являюсь студентом-медиком первого курса. И я думаю, мы должны знать, что ждёт нас в нашей будущей жизни.
В России молодые люди, которые хотят изучать медицину, подают документы в медицинскую академию или университет с медицинским факультетом. После успешной сдачи вступительных экзаменов молодые люди становятся студентами. Экзамены включают в себя предметы такие как: биологи, химия и русский язык. Учебный план медицинского института включает шестигодичный курс в области медицины или пятигодичный курс в стоматологии и фармакологии.
Медицинский курс делится на доклинический курс, клинический курс, субинтернатуру и интернатуру.
Доклинический курс длится два года. Каждый учебный год разделён на два семестра. В течение доклинического курса студенты посещают лекции, семинары и конференции по общим медицинским наукам, таким как анатомия, гистология, физиология и биохимия. Также у них есть практические занятия по этим предметам. После успешного завершения субинтернатуры, студенты, прежде чем они начнут работать по месту их назначения, проводят год (седьмой год обучения) как интерны в крупной больнице, специально предназначенной для практического обучения. Их заработная плата и их стаж начинается с момента их приёма.
My name is Mary. I’m seventeen years old. I live in Voronezh city. I have recently graduated from my high school and entered the Voronezh Medical College. It is one of the best colleges in the city. Besides, I have always wanted to study medicine after school. I really like this college and some of my close friends have also applied to study here.
My parents have always wanted me to be a teacher, but I have made up my mind to become a medical assistant or a nurse. The entrance exams included Сhemistry and Russian and I passed both of them with excellent marks. I am delighted to study such subjects as Anatomy, Latin, Сhemistry, Nursing, Genetics, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Physical Education and else. Our college is rather well equipped. There is a large sports ground outside and one gym inside. There is also a huge library with a good choice of medical books.
Actually, this college is one of the oldest educational institutions in the city and in Russia. It was founded in 1877. At first it was simply a paramedic school. After the revolution the first Soviet midwifery school was based here. In 1974 the school received the status of Voronezh basic medical college. Today, the college provides basic and advanced training in such specialties as dentistry, midwifery, paramedics, pharmacy, laboratory diagnosis, and some other branches. In addition, each year the college provides postgraduate training for nurses. I’m very proud to be a student of this college.
Today, Voronezh Medical College is one of the most prestigious and reliable institutions in the city. Thousands of young people can get decent education in healthcare area at this college.

Меня зовут Мария. Мне семнадцать лет. Я живу в Воронеже. Я недавно окончила среднюю школу и поступила в Воронежский медицинский колледж. Это один из лучших колледжей в городе. Кроме того, я всегда хотела изучать медицину после школы. Мне очень нравится этот колледж и некоторые из моих близких друзей, также подали документы для обучения в нём.
Мои родители всегда хотели, чтобы я стала учительницей, но я решила, что стану фельдшером или медсестрой. Вступительные экзамены включали химию и русский, и я сдала оба экзамена с отличием. Я рада изучать такие предметы, как анатомия, латынь, химию, медсестринское дело, генетика, фармакология, микробиология, физическая культуру и прочее. Наш колледж довольно хорошо оборудован. Снаружи есть большая спортивная площадка, а внутри - тренажерный зал. Есть также огромная библиотека с хорошим выбором медицинских книг.
На самом деле, этот колледж является одним из старейших учебных заведений в городе и в России. Он был основан в 1877 году. Сначала это была просто фельдшерская школы. После революции здесь базировалась первая советская школа для акушеров. В 1974 году школа получила статус базового Воронежского медицинского колледжа. Сегодня, колледж предоставляет основную и продвинутую подготовку по таким специальностям, как стоматология, акушерство, фельдшерское дело, фармакология, лабораторная диагностика, и некоторым другим направлениям. Кроме того, каждый год колледж проводит последипломное обучение медсестер. Я очень горжусь тем, что являюсь студенткой этого колледжа.
Сегодня Воронежский медицинский колледж является одним из самых престижных и надежных учреждений в городе. Тысячи молодых людей может получить достойное образование в области здравоохранения в этом колледже.
